Young people are getting richer and want to have more and better cars - coolness is important. But what to choose when there is cash in the account? Convertibles are good, but some choke - especially in winter. Limousines? Not yet ... Or maybe a chic coupe?

Considering the amount, say, 30 3 dollars PLN, you can already tinker with the machine a little. Some people prefer to look for new and crappy small cars, others - old, often outdated, but “cool” cars. The problem arises when it comes to buying something rare and extraordinary, because there are not many such cars on the secondary market. Okay, they exist, but their price range is so huge that after a few hours of searching, you won’t want everything. What if you settled on one vibrant brand and searched hard for an interesting model? It is very easy to spot a shaky producer. It is enough to leave the car under his wings for the night in an area characterized by young individuals with shaved heads, capable of communicating with each other only through profanity. If one of the words of their language is scratched on the roof with a knife at night, the car inspires awe. And BMW fits into this perfectly. Just what models does it have? Used SUVs are still expensive, sedans make a young man look like dad's car, and the Z3 is as luxurious as a naked stroll through a market square at rush hour. But there is something else - the Series Coupe.

The first observation is that the car is boring at first glance and does not carry anything interesting. Front and rear almost straight as a sedate sedan, the interior is not very sporty and the car is lost in the background. But on the other hand, it is a stylistic masterpiece! It was enough to lower it exactly 4,5 cm in relation to the sedan, wind the wheels more beautifully and throw out the back door so that the car became refined and extraordinary. Also, as with the 4-door version, you can't see that it's actually not a very fresh design. Ideal proportions, mouth-watering body lines and the BMW emblem on the hood do not cover one thing - this car is very nondescript, inconspicuous and does not knock you down. This may be a disadvantage for young people, but not for everyone else. Firstly, not everyone wants to shine like Yola Rutovich at a New Year's party. For such people there is Z3. Secondly, even a businessman under 50 will not look like a jerk with this car. The 3 Series coupe suits literally everyone, and there are practically no such cars on the market. Especially when it comes to sports cars, which usually contrast well only against the background of a tracksuit. But is the Series 3 Coupe even worth buying?

The Troika Coupe is not a cheap car, but in its failure reports it takes a completely different position. In general, you can guess why - most drivers have a hard time. This car encourages active driving and, more importantly, does it well. Because we are sinful beings, we are tempted by Satan. Parts and service prices at the dealership are in line with the pockets of American billionaires, and even years later, they can cause many Series 3 owners to “roll up” when they have to fix something more complicated at the dealership. However, some failures are predictable. The suspension reacts very differently to our roads - it must be borne in mind that the rear springs may need to be replaced, the wishbones hate our roads, and there will be play in the entire system, which will lead to knocking in the cabin - these are common ailments. The costs can be for the steering mechanism, and for the engine seal, and for a pair of rings - constantly burning out light bulbs, and for glass seals, and for the coolant reservoir cap, and for short blocks. Although the latter are often the result of driving style. Also, the pre-facelift versions caused most of the problems. Later, many details were corrected.

The car may not be the latest design, but the best part is that in many ways it can easily compete and win with modern cars. Its driving performance is the craftsmanship that BMW has been known for ever since it invented the badge. It's true that the suspension is too stiff, but that's partly the fault of the big wheels that were often fitted to coupes. The low profile tires and harsh performance of the system on our roads may be just as “wonderful” as the faces of people who ride in a “troika” on “cobblestones”, but something for something – this car almost swallows corners. It is well balanced and even though rear-wheel drive is easy to manage. Well, unless someone took away his driver's license a few days ago.

However, without a good engine, there is no time for fun. And the one with the designation 328 is great, because it combines good performance with fairly reasonable fuel consumption. The 2.8-liter gasoline engine has 193 km of run and six cylinders arranged in a row. The automatic transmission kills him a little, but on the mechanical one you can accelerate to 100 km / h in 7 seconds. You just need to keep in mind that although the stroke of the jack is quite short, and the gearbox itself works very nicely, it happens that the first and second “hook”. As for sounds, the cabin is perfectly muted, so the bike just purrs softly. It doesn't have weird and messed up turbocharger-style components, so it's durable enough on its own, and power comes out evenly - thanks in part to its hefty 280Nm of torque. This engine has only one problem - it is hard to find. And when it is found, it may turn out that by the time you get to the thrift store, the car will no longer be there, because it is sold out. The Series 3 is, of course, full of other devices. The one with the designation 323 and 170 hp is more common. - also petrol. It rides worse, but at the same time good enough not to be blamed too much. 325 km and 192 km are also recommended. There are also weaker gasoline bikes, but, frankly, there is no point in bothering with them - they do not match the character of the car and, in the case of the Coupe, they are difficult to resell later. Above - 320 170 km, and in version M3.0 231 .... These are fanatic engines, but they definitely deserve your attention.

It was possible to put a diesel engine in the Troika compartment, but thank God, the manufacturer offered its customers only more powerful engines. The 330d has 184-204km, accelerates well, flexible, quiet, proven - but is a diesel suitable for such a body? It depends on who likes what, but it's worth knowing that this is one of the best diesels in recent years. However, what really matters here is the fact that there is a car on the roof of which the gentlemen from the next lane will gladly scratch out a few words from their dialect - because they will envy him.
