Service campaign for 1 units of the Audi e-tron GT. A software error can damage the drive.

1 Audi e-tron GT sold in Europe needs to be visited due to a software bug. This manifested itself in models on the same platform, the Porsche Taycan / Taycan Cross Turismo, which could suddenly lose power, forcing owners to stop.

In July 2021, Porsche announced a recall campaign for the Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo vehicles. At the time, it seemed that the problem was not related to the Audi e-tron GT as it "uses a newer version of the software." It turned out, and yes, the error should appear not in the electronic GT thrones, but only in those that enter the US market. The European version was previously available to buyers and, as a result, must now visit the workshops.

The new version of the software is only downloaded through the dealership, it is not possible to update online via OTA. 1 GT electric vehicles were affected, including 728 sold in Germany. It's about vehicles manufactured between November 20, 2020 and April 20, 2021... At Porsche, the probability of a breakdown was 0,3 percent, affecting 130 of the 43 vehicles sold, so Audi expects a sudden loss of power in about 000 units.

The shutdown of the drive is the result of deliberate software operation, since a communication error between the motor and the inverter can lead, for example, to a sudden acceleration of the vehicle. After the update, both blocks are calibrated (source).
