Chevrolet Kalos 1.4 16V SX

Let's remember only Lanos. Products that have been sold all his life under his Daewoo name. Not only because of its technological immaturity, but also because of its shape and selected materials in the interior, it simply could not compete with European competitors.

It's different in Kalos. Already by design, the car is much more mature, although it is smaller in size than Lanos. But more angular edges, more thoughtful design elements and donated fenders make it more serious, and in the station wagon version even more sporty.

That the assumptions are not wrong, Kalos also proves from the inside. The two-tone dashboard, circular gauges built into the dashboard, the vents like this, the shiny plastic switches on the center console and the clock (along with the warning lights) installed in the middle are undoubtedly proof that this car needs more respect. Especially when you look at its price (2.200.000 tolar) and equipment, which is by no means modest.

You'll find a Blaupunkt cassette player (albeit in a cheaper version), power windows, central locking, steering servo, ABS, and even a manual air conditioner.

However, you will have to get used to the steering wheel, which already seems too big, to the two front seats, which only perform their main function, and to the storage boxes, which are enough, but many of them are completely useless. For example, the doors around the center console are too narrow and too smooth to store keys and a mobile phone at the same time.

Mechanics can be described in a similar way. The suspension is still too soft, so the car tilts when cornering. The steering wheel and gearbox are simply not precise enough to raise the brand's reputation. However, some additional work will also need to be done on the engine in the future.

The latter is large enough in volume and has four valves per cylinder, which should be applicable to modern design, but does not like forcing. It reacts with significant noise and increased fuel consumption, which means that you will not do this very often.

The rest of the Kalos sedan version is not even intended for such buyers. The latter will have to look for better quality, more reputable and, equally importantly, more expensive brands. Kalos takes care of this too. How else would you interpret the name change.
