Skoda Camik. Euro NCAP Safety Star Recruitment

Skoda Camik. Euro NCAP Safety Star Recruitment Safety is one of the main determinants of a modern car. The car must be safe not only for the driver and passenger, but also for other road users. The Skoda Kamiq, the brand's first urban SUV, recently received a positive rating in this regard in the Euro NCAP test.

Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Program) was launched in 1997. It is an independent vehicle safety assessment organization sponsored by independent organizations and supported by the governments of several European countries. Its main purpose was and remains to test cars in terms of passive safety. It is important to note that Euro NCAP buys cars for its crash tests with its own money at randomly selected points of sale of this brand. Therefore, these are ordinary production cars that go on mass sale.

Skoda Camik. Euro NCAP Safety Star RecruitmentThe four main categories in which cars are judged are frontal, side, pole and pedestrian modeling. There is also a whiplash test that uses only a dummy chair on the rails. His task is to check what kind of protection of the spine the seat provides in the event of a blow to the back of the car.

Test results are rated with asterisks - from one to five. Their number determines the level of safety of the driver and passengers of the vehicle. The more of them, the safer the car. The maximum tested model can get five stars. And it is precisely this number of stars that each manufacturer cares about.

It should be noted that, taking into account modern market requirements, equipping a car with safety elements, such as airbags and curtains, ABS and ESP, is considered as a necessary minimum, due to the need to comply with the regulations. Currently, a vehicle must have a range of active electronic safety and driver assistance systems in order to receive a five-star rating.

Systems of this type already exist not only in higher-class cars. They are also used by cars from lower segments, resulting in high scores in Euro NCAP tests. The Skoda Kamiq was recently awarded the highest safety rating.

The benefits of the following systems have been highlighted to protect cyclists: Front Assist, Predictive Pedestrian Protection and City Emergency Brake. All of these systems are standard on the car.

It's worth noting that the Kamiq can be equipped with nine airbags, including an optional driver's knee airbag and rear side airbags. The standard equipment of the model includes: Lane Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Multicollision Brake and Isofix child seat mounts.

All SKODA models can boast five stars in crash tests. This also applies to the two remaining Skoda SUVs - Karoq and Kodiaq. In the adult occupant protection category, the Kodiaq scored 92 percent. In the same category, Karoq scored 93 percent. Euro NCAP particularly appreciated the automatic emergency brake, which is standard on both cars. Systems such as Front Assist (collision avoidance system) and pedestrian monitoring are also standard.

However, in July of this year, the Skoda Scala was awarded the highest rating. The car achieved a 97 percent result in the adult occupant protection category. As the testers stressed, this definitely puts the Scala at the forefront of compact family cars tested by Euro NCAP.
