If you need to overtake a car or go around an obstacle on the road into the oncoming one, then you need to follow the rules very carefully, since such maneuvers are fraught with high fines. Departure to the “oncoming lane” is allowed only if you are driving on a narrow or three-lane road and there are no prohibition signs.

If you are driving on a four- or more-lane highway, then you cannot go into the oncoming one, otherwise you will have to fork out and pay fines, or even say goodbye to your certificate. If you need to turn left or make a full U-turn, follow the signs and road markings. But to go around obstacles with the exit to the “oncoming lane” is prohibited in any case.

So, what kind of fines await the unlucky driver who dared to go into the oncoming lane?

Article 12.15, part three - driving into an oncoming lane, neglecting the rules of the road when avoiding obstacles - a fine from one to one and a half thousand rubles.

This article deals specifically with avoiding obstacles - roadworks, broken cars. If the driver thus wants to bypass the resulting traffic jam, then a more severe punishment has been prepared for him:

12.15. part 4 - a fine of five thousand or deprivation of a driver's license for up to six months. If the driver is caught again in this violation, then he will have to transfer to public transport or hire a private driver for as much as 12 months. As you can see, this article refers specifically to overtaking, and not to avoiding road obstacles, which must be remembered and strictly observed.

Violation with exit to the oncoming lane, committed during a left turn or a full U-turn in the absence of signs permitting this maneuver, is also regulated by Article 12.16 part two. A driver who wants to turn or make a full U-turn, anywhere, will be fined one or one and a half thousand rubles.

Based on all of the above, it remains only to adhere to the rules of the road, especially since overtaking and driving into the oncoming lane is a rather dangerous maneuver, which often causes very serious accidents.
