SI-Drive - Subaru Intelligent Drive

Subaru's new SI-Drive system allows the driver to maximize performance, handling and engine efficiency by selecting one of three selectable modes (Smart, Sport and Sport Sharp) via a knob on the center console.

• Sport: You get fast throttle response and linear and powerful acceleration. This last feature puts the car in ideal conditions for driving on motorways, country roads or mountain roads;
• Sport Sharp: Provides maximum engine power while emphasizing responsiveness. The response to the accelerator pedal is direct and reliable, as is the acceleration of the vehicle itself. Automatic transmission shift points are shifted at higher revs, while downshifts make the most of impulse control to stay on top of the wide, flat Outback torque curve.
• Intelligent: This mode ensures the perfect daily balance between performance and environmental friendliness. The throttle display balances smoothness and efficiency for superior control on slippery roads and in the city.

This is a very advanced active safety system.
