On February 23, a conference was held at the Military Institute of Weapons Technology in Zielonka on the topic "SIMULAR 2016 - Simulators and trainers in the training of the Armed Forces - modern technologies and development directions." It was organized by the Military Institute of Weapons Technology and the Training Inspectorate of the High Command of the Armed Forces. This event, combined with the opening of the WITU Simulator Laboratory and the celebration of the 90th anniversary of this facility, also provided an opportunity to present the planned directions for the development of training support systems in the Polish Armed Forces and other areas of public security. services based on digital simulation devices. Potential challenges and associated threats were also identified.

The event was attended, among other things, by the head of the Training Inspectorate of the High Command of the Armed Forces, brig. Andrzej Danilewski, President of Autocomp Management Sp. z oo Krzysztof Chladyszewski and President of Elektrotim SA, which built the WITU Simulator Laboratory, Andrzej Diakun. The conference was opened by the director of WITU, Colonel Dr. Jacek Borkowski, and then by General Danielewski, who outlined plans for the development of a training base in the Polish armed forces. At present, the goal is to create conditions for the joint training of command and troops, i.e. to achieve the interaction of training devices belonging to different branches of the armed forces, so that it is possible to train not only the interaction of units of the same type (for example, infantry or armored vehicles), but also units with completely different capabilities and applications (for example, so that infantry can call for air support, carried out by pilots, including with the use of simulators). It should also be possible to train commanders of soldiers on simulators. All this should become possible thanks to ensuring compatibility and "binding" into a single system of simulators located in military units and training centers. This will allow the so-called distributed simulation, which allows joint training of soldiers using simulators located even hundreds of kilometers apart. This will provide a logistically convenient and inexpensive opportunity for collaborative learning.

The elements of distributed simulation include: the Snezhnik and SK-1 Pluton simulation systems (training at the platoon and company levels), tactical simulators (for training crews and groups at the battalion level), command simulators at the battalion level (KSSPW / JCATS ). ), as well as at the brigade, division, air wing or flotilla level (JCATS/JTLS).
