Structurally, the automated parking system consists of several elements:

  • sensors with emitters in the ultrasonic range;
  • display, which displays all the information received from them;
  • system switch;
  • Control block.

Systems from different manufacturers use different numbers of these sensors. Principle of operation

After the driver turns on the automatic parking system, the electronic control unit begins to collect and analyze data from all sensors. After that, the unit sends control pulses to the following vehicle systems:

The first stage of the system operation is carried out by means of sensitive sensors. Due to the long range of action, they record the distance between objects in the parking lot in advance and as accurately as possible and determine their dimensions.

In the event that the sensors have found a suitable place for a given vehicle, the electronics sends an appropriate signal to the driver. And the display shows a complete analysis of the data and the parking scheme in the selected location. Different systems calculate the possibility of parking a car in different ways: for example, the length of the car +0.8 meters is taken as the optimal distance for parking. Some systems calculate this figure using a different formula: vehicle length +1 meter.

Next, the driver must choose one of the proposed parking methods - fully automated or with the participation of the driver according to the proposed instructions:

  • visualization of the movement of the vehicle is projected onto the display, which allows the driver to use the most simple recommendations and park the car on their own;
  • automatic parking is controlled by the operation of several vehicle systems (power steering engine, reverse feed hydraulic pump and brake system valves, power unit, automatic transmission).

Automatic parking system Of course, it is possible to switch from automatic to manual control. At the same time, there is an option for fully automated parking, both with the presence of the driver in the cabin, and without his participation, when commands are given through the ignition key.
