Smart Idle Stop System (SISS)

This is Mazda's original Start/Stop system that uses the name SISS. Instead of a classic starter start, this system uses in-cylinder fuel injection to restart the engine. When the engine is turned off, the system stops the pistons in the ideal position for a new ignition. When the engine needs to be restarted, the control electronics will inject fuel directly into the cylinder and ignite to start the engine. The advantage of this solution is its fast response - restart takes only 0,3 seconds, in addition, the task of the starter is eliminated. It also saves power from the battery.
