braking system. Disability symptoms

braking system. Disability symptoms The technical condition of the colony's buses is a topic that comes up in the media every year, at the beginning of the holiday season. Parents have the right to ask the relevant authorities to inspect the vehicle in which their children go on vacation in advance, and often take advantage of this opportunity. They must also treat their vehicles with equal responsibility. Pre-holiday control, incl. brake discs and pads, as experts emphasize, are recommended in every vehicle in which we want to hit the road.

Every year, police departments and road transport inspectorates throughout Poland inform parents and organizers of tourist trips for children about the possibility of checking the technical condition of the wagons by the relevant officials. These actions contribute significantly to improving road safety. As ProfiAuto experts note, not only buses, but also all other vehicles that will transport children on vacation should be carefully inspected. Particular attention should be paid to the condition of the brake system. In 2015, its malfunctions were the cause of as much as 13,8 percent. Accident due to technical malfunction of vehicles*.

– Pre-holiday inspection of the technical condition of the car should be standard. It doesn't matter if it's a short route or a long one, whether it's a bus or a car. You never know what conditions we will face on the road. Particular attention should be paid to the brake system, which, unfortunately, is an element that is often overlooked during checks. For example, not all drivers know that the front brakes in most cars provide up to 70 percent of the braking force. Meanwhile, our cars can send out a number of signals early to determine that the brake system is not fully functional. You should know about them and in this case contact a trusted service, says Lukasz Rys, ProfiAuto automotive expert.

The first symptoms of a brake system malfunction include: one of the brake system warning lights comes on. Depending on the car model, if this item has worked, it may mean that you need to top up the brake fluid, replace the pads and / or discs, or the system is leaking. Possible metallic sounds that appear during braking, any squealing or creaking should also be considered an alarming phenomenon. Symptoms such as jolts and vibrations during braking should also be of concern.

A visit to the garage should also be facilitated by an increase in the braking distance of the car than before, or the characteristic "pull" of the car to the side during braking. The absence or lower than before resistance of the brake pedal when pressed is another signal that the vehicle's braking system is not fully functional. The specialists emphasize that any interventions related to the brake system should be carried out after consultation with qualified mechanics.

– Drivers often think that some types of repairs are easy and do not require the help of qualified specialists. However, it should be remembered that even the "normal" and "simple" replacement of brake pads is not limited to one action. During such maintenance, it is necessary to check other elements of the brake system, such as the brake disc, caliper, hub, cables and others. Only such a comprehensive service can ensure the safety of this system on the road, emphasizes Lukasz Rys.
