The BMW X5 is a premium SUV produced by the German company BMW since 1999. This is the first model in the SUV class of the Bavarian company. In the basic version, the model was offered with a 225-horsepower 3-liter engine, and a more powerful version received an 8-cylinder engine with a return of 347 horsepower. There is also an inexpensive modification with a 3-liter diesel engine, as well as a flagship 4,4-liter gasoline engine.

After restyling in 2004, changes appeared in the range of engines. So the old 4,4-liter engine was replaced with a similar internal combustion engine, boosted to 315 horsepower (instead of 282 hp). There was also a 4,8-liter version with 355 horsepower.

In 2006, sales of the second generation BMW X5 began. The car has become larger and more luxurious, and also received high-end premium equipment. In the basic version, the car was offered with a three-liter six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 272 liters, as well as with a 4,8-liter engine with a capacity of 355 "horses". In 2010, a three-liter V6 with 306 hp appeared, as well as a flagship 4.4 V8 with 408 hp. The cheapest versions are 235–381 hp diesel engines.

In 2010, the sports version of the X5 M debuted with a 4,4-liter 8-cylinder engine with 563 horsepower.

In 2013, sales of the fourth generation BMW X5 began. The car first received a hybrid version based on a two-liter internal combustion engine with a capacity of 313 horsepower. The most affordable gasoline version is with a three-liter engine and 306 horsepower. Diesel engines - 3,0 liters (218, 249 and 313 hp). The flagship version has a 4,4-liter petrol engine (450 horsepower).
