The oldest cars in Europe drive in our country, which is why drivers of cars older than 5 years are required to undergo an inspection once a year. Owners of new cars and trucks, trailers up to 3,5 tons and motorcycles for the first time must pass an inspection three years after the first registration. The second survey must be repeated within five years of registration, and the next one every year.

The situation is different for agricultural tractors, agricultural trailers and mopeds. Owners of listed vehicles must pass the test within three years of first registration, but a second and subsequent test is held every two years thereafter. Light trailers and retro cars are inspected only once before registration, unless they are referred for such inspection by the relevant authorities.

How much does a car inspection cost? It depends on the scope of the research being done. However, there are some exceptions to be noted as some new vehicles must be inspected every year. These include vehicles with LPG/CNG gas installations, passenger taxis, ambulances, vehicles carrying dangerous goods, vehicles used for driving education and driver's license examinations, self-assembled vehicles, and vehicles that are structurally adapted and used to transport people. .

For various reasons, you may be sent for a technical inspection of the car before the expiration of the term of the headman, the police or the traffic police. The most common reason for this may be a suspected safety or environmental hazard, or a change in vehicle design.

On the other hand, you will pay PLN 94 for the first inspection after the accident.

It may be necessary to perform additional tests during the inspection. You will pay PLN 14 to check the lighting settings. Similarly, in the case of checking shock absorbers and toxicity of exhaust gases in a car with gas and a car with an internal combustion engine. The price list for technical inspection of vehicles is standardized throughout our country. Simple defects and technical checks are subject to an additional charge of 2 euros per defect or arrangement. Penalties for not having a periodic inspection

How to prepare for a vehicle inspection?

Now we will tell you what the owner of the vehicle should prepare for before heading to the control room. The diagnostic test can be divided into three parts. The first is vehicle identification, i.e. comparison of the VIN number with the data sheet, then the diagnostician checks additional equipment, for example, the HBO system. The last stage is to assess the technical condition of the components and systems that the car is equipped with.

During the inspection, the vehicle is checked for safety, as well as for compliance with environmental protection requirements. The most important nodes checked by the diagnostician:

  • the condition of the connections and the degree of wear of the steering system,
