Smartphone Neffos X1 - more for less money

This time we present a smartphone from the new series of the Neffos brand. Previous models from TP-Link have received a lot of recognition among users, so I myself was curious how the test of this model would turn out. I confess, he made a good impression on me from the very first inclusion.

This well-made smartphone is thin and looks great. The body is mostly made of brushed metal, only the top and bottom parts are made of plastic. On the right edge are the volume and power buttons, and on top is the headphone jack and microphone. At the bottom there is a microUSB connector, a microphone and a multimedia speaker, and on the left side there is a shiny novelty - a smartphone mute slider familiar to us from Apple devices.

The aluminum case with double curved back makes the phone feel secure in the hand and, importantly, the metal does not show fingerprints. We can easily handle it with one hand.

The Neffos X1 features the popular 2D glass with an anti-fingerprint coating. The screen is 5 inches with HD Ready resolution, i.e. 1280 x 720 pixels, with good viewing angles. The minimum and maximum brightness of the screen is ideal, so we can comfortably use it both on a sunny day and at night. Color rendition is also, in my opinion, at a decent level.

The phone has a unique narrow frame - only 2,95 mm, so as much as 76% of the panel is the display. At the back we find a 13-megapixel main camera with a Sony sensor and a BSI (backlight) matrix, and at the bottom there are two LEDs (warm and cold). The camera has an f/2.0 aperture, making it easy to capture meaningful photos in low light. It also has features to support night photos, self-timer, my favorite panorama and HDR mode.

Under the LEDs is an excellent fingerprint scanner (works flawlessly), which allows you to unlock the phone very quickly - just put your finger on the sensor located on the back of the device. We may also use it to secure certain applications, such as banking or photo album support. It can also be used to take our favorite selfies.

The device works satisfactorily, and the eight-core Media-Tek Helio P10 processor is responsible for its efficient operation. In addition, we have 2 GB / 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB / 32 GB of internal memory, expandable with microSD cards up to 128 GB. The Neffos X1 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow (soon to be updated to a newer version of the system), with the manufacturer's add-on - NFUI 1.1.0, which provides additional features, incl. the so-called suspension button. Installed applications run smoothly and stably without any problems. I confess that I was pleasantly surprised, because the presented smartphone can be attributed to the group of so-called budget devices.

In my opinion, the device lacks an NFC module and a removable battery, but everything does not happen. I was also a little annoyed by the phone's speakers, which clearly crackle at maximum volume, and the case, which heats up quite a lot, but there are no devices without flaws. With a price of around PLN 700, it's hard to find a better device in this class.

Smartphones Neffos X1 are available in two colors - gold and gray. The product is covered by a 24-month door-to-door manufacturer's warranty.
