The chains have a different "cut" - they differ in the layout of the links on the tire, as well as the material from which they are made, and hence their efficiency. The more metal weaves on the tread, the easier it will be to ride on a snowy surface.

When buying chains, you should pay attention to the shape of their links. They are made of round wire and are not very effective, so you should choose links with sharp edges that cut into snow or ice. Chain cell size is also important. Previously, they had a diameter of 16 or 14 mm, now 12 mm is commonly used.
