Removing oxygen concentration sensors

We remove the sensors for replacement, as well as when disassembling the exhaust system.

We carry out work with cooled elements of the exhaust system.

Removing the control oxygen concentration sensor

Remove the air filter housing (see "Removing the air filter housing"). Ignition OFF, press the latch on the engine management harness assembly...

..and disconnect the block from the harness block of the control oxygen concentration sensor

Remove the sensor harness assembly from the bracket.

We pass the block of the sensor harness through the key ring "by 22"

. insert the key fob into the hexagon of the sensor

... and unscrew the sensor from the exhaust manifold hole

Install the oxygen concentration control sensor in the reverse order.

Before installing the sensor, we apply a thin layer of graphite lubricant to its thread, preventing it from getting inside the sensor through the hole in the tip.

We tighten the sensor with the prescribed torque (see "Appendices").

Removing the Diagnostic Oxygen Sensor

We carry out work in a viewing ditch or overpass.

From under the bottom of the car with the ignition off, pressing the latch of the engine control wiring harness block ...

..disconnect the wiring harness block from the sensor wiring block.

Remove the sensor cable block from the bracket attached to the heat shield

We pass the sensor cable block through the “22” key ring and, placing the key ring in the sensor hexagon

We pass the sensor cable block through the “22” key ring and, placing the key fob in the sensor hexagon ...

..remove the sensor from the threaded hole of the branch pipe

. remove the sensor from the threaded hole of the pipe.

We install the diagnostic oxygen concentration sensor in the reverse order.

Before installing the sensor, we apply a thin layer of graphite lubricant to its thread, preventing it from getting inside the sensor through the hole in the tip.
