Removing and installing the hood on a VAZ 2101

It is not often necessary to remove the hood from a VAZ 2101 car, and in most cases it is necessary during body repair or its complete replacement. In order to dismantle it from the car, you will need a 12 or 13 key, depending on which bolts it is screwed on.

So, first of all, you need to open the hood and spray penetrating grease on the bolts of its fastening:

After that, we wait a couple of minutes for the grease to penetrate the threads and try to rip off the bolts with a regular wrench, preferably a cap wrench. And then you can use the ratchet to loosen the hood bolts faster:

As you can see for yourself, on each side the hood of the VAZ 2101 is attached with two bolts. Of course, you first need to unscrew one on each side so that it holds, especially if you are doing the repair yourself and there is no one to support.

Then we squeeze the hood stop with our hand so that its antennae disengage, as shown in the photo below:

And after that, you can finally unscrew the remaining bolts and remove the hood:

If it is necessary to replace it, we buy a new one and install it in the reverse order. Of course, buying a new hood for 2101 is now problematic, since such body parts are no longer produced, but you can find a used one in excellent condition if you try hard.
