The increased emission of toxic waste is an acute problem for many megacities. To a large extent, this unfavorable environmental situation is caused by the ever-increasing number of vehicles. If earlier the degree of pollution in some cities barely reached the permissible level, now this number has exceeded all conceivable and unimaginable limits.

According to experts, the further growth of road transport with internal combustion engines will lead to irreversible consequences, which, in turn, will have the most negative impact on people's health.

Many experts see the solution to this problem in the complete rejection of internal combustion engines. However, such measures, due to certain circumstances, cannot be implemented immediately. It will take more than one year to switch to a new, environmentally friendly type of vehicle. The implementation of the presented method consists of several stages, as evidenced by the experience of many cities that successfully implement it on their streets.

One of them - Paris. Thanks to a number of reforms, restrictions were introduced related to the movement of vehicles along the streets of the city. On weekends, vehicles manufactured before 1997 are not allowed to enter the central streets of the capital.

In addition, every first Sunday of the month, all streets adjacent to the central part of the city are completely cleared of cars, regardless of their brand and year of manufacture. So, Parisians, for 8 hours, have the opportunity to walk along the Seine embankment, inhaling the fresh air.

Authorities mexico city also imposed certain restrictions on the use of the vehicle. The beginning of such transformations was laid back in 2008. Every Saturday, all owners of personal vehicles, without taking into account any privileges and benefits, are limited in free movement in their cars.

Danes went a slightly different route. They rely on cycling while limiting the mass use of cars. In order for the population to quickly join this "healthy" mode of transport, the corresponding infrastructure is being built everywhere. It includes bike lanes and parking lots.

For electric bicycles, special charging points are mounted. The future trend of Copenhagen's clean transport program is to shift to hybrid modes of transport across the board by 2035.

Authorities Belgian capital also advocate for the improvement of the environmental situation. On most streets in Brussels, a program of so-called environmental monitoring is being implemented. It consists in the fact that cameras installed in various parts of the city record the movement of old cars and motorcycles.

The owner of such a vehicle, hitting the camera lens, will inevitably receive an impressive fine for violating environmental standards. In addition, the restrictions will also affect diesel cars, up to their complete ban by 2030.

A similar situation is observed in Spain on the Iberian Peninsula. So, the mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmen, concerned about the increased gas contamination of his city, announced a ban on the movement of all vehicles along the main street of the capital.

It should be noted that this restriction does not apply to all types of public transport, taxis, motorcycles and mopeds.
