The testing period for Premium Connectivity has been reduced to 30 days from the date of receipt of the Tesla Model 3 / Y. Previously, it was a year

Premium Connectivity is a service that allowed, among other things, streaming music to the Tesla Model 3/Y. Until recently, each customer could test it within a year of receiving the car. Tesla Model 3 and Y will now have only 30 days from delivery.

Premium connection - prices and options

Premium connectivity costs 9,99 euros / 45 zlotys per month. The service allows you to view traffic on maps, turn on satellite map mode, stream video and audio (YouTube, Spotify), use a web browser and play karaoke (Caraoke). Until May 2020, all Tesla buyers had Premium connectivity, then the package began to gradually expire, switching to Standard (excluding models manufactured before July 2018).

The new Tesla Premium test suite can be used for free for a year (exception: Model 3 SR +), however, as noted by the Electrek portal, From now on, buyers of models 3 and Y have only 30 days to familiarize themselves with the service. “From now on”, that is, in Tesla Model 3 and Y ordered from October 15, 2021 - “30 days” are counted from the date of delivery (source).

So if someone ordered a Tesla Model Y on October 15th and picks it up on November 30th, they'll have until December 30th to check out the Premium Connectivity capabilities. After this period, he or she will obviously have to pay to continue using the package or refuse it. Tesla Model S and X were left with a grace period of one year.

Therefore, Tesla is starting to make services similar to those of other manufacturers, which allow a mobile application to be used as a key for 3-5 years or offer free map / software updates for one to three years. However, the Californian manufacturer has not decided to charge a fee for updating the firmware of the vehicle and all of its controllers.
