SRS - Supplementary Restraint System

SRS, Supplemental Restraint System, means any additional passive restraint device that works in conjunction with some other restraint system.

This acronym is commonly used synonymously with an airbag and clearly indicates how this useful device complements a seatbelt, which is always needed to provide basic occupant protection, without which an airbag alone can do little.
