Vespa Elettrica scooter pre-sale starts. PRICE? Almost 28 PLN (equivalent)

Sales of the electric Vespa Elettrica begin. The scooter is the equivalent of 50cc internal combustion models. Cm.³but its price was set at the level of top-end scooters with engines of 250-300 cm.³... Elettrica costs almost 6,4 thousand euros.

Piaggio, owner of the Vespa brand, said in August 2018 that the price of the electric scooter will be "in line with the high-end offering." Since the Elettrica is the equivalent of 50cc scooters. See, we predicted that the cost of scooters will cost at least 15–20 PLN. It turns out that our optimism was exaggerated.

Vespa Elettric starts at € 6.... Since the VAT rate is 22 percent in Italy and 23 percent in Poland, it is easy to calculate that the scooter should cost about PLN 27,8 thousand. For comparison: a Vespa Primavera 125 for internal combustion costs PLN 19–20 thousand, while a Vespa Sei 280 costs PLN 26,9 thousand. So, unfortunately, we're talking about a price adjustment on a very high-end offering.

The Vespa Elettrica produces 2,7 hp. (2 kW) in continuous mode (maximum 5,4 hp). It is reported that a battery with a capacity of 4,2 kWh will last for 100 kilometers without recharging. Today, the scooter can officially only be bought in the euro area, that is, in the European Union countries that have switched to the euro, but the offer for the sale will gradually spread to other European countries. In 2019, the electric Vespa will be offered in Asia and the United States.
