The interior of the car, especially the upholstery, requires regular cleaning. With a specialist, it costs about 300 zł. But you will have to take some steps yourself.

Even in the most well-maintained car, the upholstery changes color and loses its properties over time. The chairs darken, the ceiling grays, and the floor, which absorbs moisture from the carpets, begins to smell bad.

Do you wash everything? Only specialist

Dirt is especially visible on rainy days when we sit in the car in wet clothes and get the materials wet. Without proper care, the aesthetic appearance of plastics and plastics used for cockpit trim. However, with a little desire and free time, you can easily restore the aesthetic appearance and pleasant smell.

A comprehensive car interior wash requires specialized equipment and good detergents. Therefore, if you intend to clean everything from floor to ceiling, it is best to entrust the work to professionals.

– Prices for services depend on the size of the car and the type of materials from which its interior is made. Cleaning classic, fabric upholstery and plastic costs about PLN 200-300. If the chairs are made of leather, the price goes up to PLN 500, says Pavel Kozha from the Wash Clinic in Rzeszow.

Vacuum the car interior first

Interior cleaners start with a thorough vacuuming. This is very important, because the debris on the chairs or in the nooks and crannies interferes with the next step - washing.

Hard-to-reach nooks and crannies such as air intakes, slots or around buttons and steering column can be cleaned with a brush. We do this before we start washing, preferably along with vacuuming.

Wash upholstery

Vehicles with fabric upholstery use the same cleaner and washer vacuum cleaner for the floor, trunk and seats. Stubborn stains can be removed with a soft brush.

Roof sheathing requires special care. So that the material does not bristle, it is wiped with a soft cloth or diaper. Detergents are applied very carefully so as not to wet the element too much. Otherwise, the ceiling may collapse due to the weight of the water.

Cabin cleaning - matte or glossy?

“For plastic elements, we use a completely different measure. This is a liquid with a special composition that dissolves dirt well. Just spray on the cab and wipe it with a soft cloth. Then you need to rub with a preservative and antistatic agent. I use lotion based on natural waxes. I have two types of it, thanks to which the client can choose whether the plastic will be matte or glossy, explains Pavel Kozha.

Leather seat upholstery - sponge clean

Leather upholstery requires special care. According to experts, each driver should serve it twice a year. In order for the material to retain its properties, care must also be preceded by cleaning.

– Detergent can be applied to a sponge and lathered. Then we put on chairs. If the leather is very dirty, clean it with a brush, but with very soft bristles. Then we wipe the chairs with a rag. At the end, we apply a caring and protective preparation, explains Leather.

Although most washing devices today suck out excess water from the upholstery, the driver must remember that the interior of the car remains very damp after cleaning.

Therefore, it is best to schedule the washing of upholstered furniture on a sunny warm day. Then the open car can be left in front of the house until completely dry.

– Each driver can easily remove small stains. Good quality mounting foam costs PLN 25-35. One package is enough to wash the entire set of seats and headlining, says Piotr Wons from the SZiK car shop in Rzeszow.
