Hub rake for angle grinders
Most mortar rakes are M14 threaded, so the angle grinder you use must have an M14 threaded spindle. Information such as thread size should be included in the manual for the angle grinder. Most small angle grinders are classified as 115mm and/or 125mm angle grinders. (This number refers to the size of the disc that the angle grinder can handle). 115mm or 125mm angle grinders tend to have a spindle size that matches M14 threads, so an M14 mortar should fit any standard 115mm or 125mm angle grinder.
A mortar rake with an internal thread fits the spindle of an angle grinder.
The mortar tine is screwed onto the spindle of the angle grinder and can be tightened with a wrench as shown here.

Some mortar rakes have a long grit section designed to remove individual bricks.
A bag of different diameters can be useful if you need to shovel mortar of different widths. All mortar rakes have a shank of the same size, so they can be used on the same angle grinder, however, the width of their grinding part is different.
This type of mortar rake has a male male thread that screws into the female female thread of the mortar rake adapter, which in turn screws onto the angle grinder spindle. For more information see How to install / install a mortar rake |
