The fate of electric vehicles will be determined in the next ten years

Research firm KPMG recently released the results of a survey of 200 automotive industry leaders about the future of electric vehicles in the next ten years.

Review of the Global Automotive Executive Survey

Called the Global Automotive Executive Survey, this report is offered as part of the industry's annual accounting bureau research. When asked about the fate of the alternative propulsion segment, officials interviewed did not appear to be confident about the massive deployment of electric vehicles to the detriment of traditional thermal combustion vehicles. The main reason mentioned is still the higher performance obtained with these latest technologies, which have been constantly improving in recent years. Thus, in the next ten years, that is, by about 2025, only 15% of drivers worldwide will adopt electrical technologies.

Electrical solution during testing phase

According to the KMPG publication, the North American and European territories appear to be the least interested in changing habits regarding the use of green technologies in their travels. These markets will account for 6% to 10% of all EV deals. Major players in the sector are currently giving the impression that they are testing various alternatives to the combustion engine. Nevertheless, the electrical solution is popular and is the subject of constant attention from various employees in the global automotive industry. All eyes are also on new markets that are more open and promising for the future of electric vehicles. In any case, it follows from this report that everything remains open about the future of electric vehicles in the next decade. Nothing happens and in any case nothing will be done quickly, no matter what technology is used.
