New hypersport tire opens up new possibilities for drivers

Bridgestone, the world's largest tire and rubber manufacturer, has unveiled the Battlax Hypersport S22, the most innovative motorcycle tire to complement its flagship Battlax range. Bridgestone makes no compromises and delivers the best results in all areas.

The development of the S22 is driven by the desire to add excellent wet performance to the exceptional dry grip that the Battlax Hypersport was known for. Emphasis is also placed on the feel of contact with the road and cornering, which allows riders to experience the maximum potential of the motorcycle.

“We designed the S22 to meet the needs and requirements of motorcyclists,” explains Niko Tui, Head of Motorcycle Europe at Bridgestone EMEA. With this easy handling and increased interaction, especially in corners, hypersport riders will have the ultimate confidence in their desire to take it to the next level.

Test results show improvements in all areas: 15% faster turn in dry conditions, 1.2% faster lap times in dry conditions, and 5% faster lap times in wet conditions. [1]

Exceptional cravings recipe

Bridgestone incorporates various tread compounds with a harder center, softer shoulder areas and even softer edge compounds to optimize the balance between traction and cornering. The original mix uses an optimized adhesion mixture, while the center mix includes a 25% increase in small silicon molecules to increase contact with the road surface [2].

Despite the significant improvement in performance, there is no compromise on front or rear tire wear.

Has a positive effect on the tire pattern

The compound used in the bus is designed to work in sync with the pattern. These two aspects have been precisely aligned with each other, especially at the edges of the contact area, to provide more traction and reduce slippage. An incredible 5% improvement on wet surfaces is made possible by design improvements that increase water drainage as well as an increase in the groove / rubber ratio in the tire bracket area.

Better stability

Bridgestone combines the latest MS-Belt design with high tensile strength cord technology to provide drivers with a comfortable driving experience and confidence in the tire's stability at high speeds. This was compared to the three-dimensional shape of the rim in the groove design of the front tire, which is critical for optimum tire stability. The result is a tire optimized for maximum performance in every area.

The new Battlax Hypersport S22 tires are available in a wide range of sizes from January 2019, with additional sizes due in January 2020.
