Supercar of the Krakow University of Technology burns 1 liter per 100 km

Supercar of the Krakow University of Technology burns 1 liter per 100 km Its length is just over two meters, and its width is one meter. Thanks to this, there is no problem with parking in a crowded city. The Innovative Hybrid City Car is a master's thesis by three students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Krakow University of Technology.

Tadeusz Gwiazdon, Artur Pulchny and Mateusz Rudnicki about their idea Supercar of the Krakow University of Technology burns 1 liter per 100 km they worked for over a year. The car they created can be driven by an internal combustion engine. The tank capacity is four liters, and with a full tank you can drive about 250 kilometers. This low fuel consumption is also possible thanks to the vehicle's light weight (250 kg). The car can also be driven by an electric motor. It takes only four hours to charge such a battery through an electrical outlet. One charge is enough to drive about 35 kilometers.

How does a hybrid system work in a car?

– The vehicle can reach speeds of up to 45 km per hour. Thanks to this, people with a moped license can use it, the doctor explains. English Witold Grzegorzek, scientific adviser. The car is very easy to drive because it does not have a traditional gearbox. Students who have already completed their master's thesis in invention say they wanted to create a vehicle smaller than popular smart cars.

“To make it as small as possible, we used tandem seats. The driver and passengers sit one behind the other,” explains Artur Pulchny, one of the creators of the vehicle. He explains that it will easily fit two well-built men. Parking is further facilitated by the way the door is opened. They are shifted to the side. The cost of producing the car was PLN 20 in total. zloty. Funds for this purpose were provided by the Dean of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the Krakow Polytechnic University. The construction itself cost $15. The rest went to bodybuilding and painting. The creators of the car would like to interest sponsors in it.

“We will be glad to accept offers,” Pulchny says. He explains that while the creators want to focus on patenting the invention. “We would not want anyone to use our idea without our participation,” he emphasizes.
