Suzuki Splash - we start a long-range test!

In the small city car market, there is a tough competition for customers. The vast majority of manufacturers have in their assortment a small-sized city car with low fuel consumption. This is no different from Suzuki. We decided to see how the representative of this brand, model Splash, will cope with our long-range test.

The manufacturer calls the Suzuki Splash an "urban minivan," but at first glance, one might say that this is an exaggerated term. This is a typical A-segment car. The little one we tested is powered by a 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine (variable valve timing) with 94 horsepower, which is mated to a five-speed manual transmission that drives the front wheels. . This is the most powerful bike that a small Suzuki can be equipped with. Considering that the car weighs a little more than a ton, it will not have problems with moving around the city. We will not fail to check its performance on the road. We will test combustion under various conditions, checking how they differ from the catalog values. We can already tell that the Splash confuses many vehicles with the "Hybrid" badge on the fender.

The Comfort package, which you will learn more about soon, includes, among other things, front and side airbags for the driver and front passenger, curtain airbags, ABS and EBD systems, electric power steering, air conditioning, electric front door. power windows, steering wheel Leather steering wheel, on-board computer, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors and a storage compartment under the trunk floor, which, contrary to appearances, ... reduces its capacity. Despite this, it must be admitted that this is a rather rich set of accessories for a car whose task is to wade through crowded cities.

It is worth paying attention to the fact that the tested Splash has already traveled more than 35 kilometers. This allows us to check if any interior elements are showing signs of excessive wear. We will try to test ease of maneuvering, visibility from the driver's seat and ease of use. In addition, we will check the engine performance, its dynamics and, most importantly, whether the Splash can cope not only with everyday trips alone, but also when transporting five people. How will this affect the dynamics of the small car from the Land of the Rising Sun? We will find out about this soon.
