Suzuki Splash - meeting with an old friend

Just recently, we had the opportunity to meet again with the car, the test of which we published earlier this year. Taking this opportunity, we decided to see how a kid from Japan survived a year on Polish roads.

You can read about our previous experiences here. At the moment, Splash has traveled almost 30 kilometers, and the data sheet shows that it has been fighting wells, pits and salt since September last year.

The Splash in question is a press car, so it is associated with ever-changing drivers and therefore different driving styles. A better long-range test is hard to imagine. How did he survive this attempt?

I will say right away that ... very good. In terms of mechanics, there really is nothing to complain about. The steering system still works, as it did when the car was in our editorial office. Many people were concerned about the failure of the small three-cylinder power unit. Suzuki still growls wonderfully under acceleration and has a fuel economy of 4 liters per hundred kilometers. There are no leaks in the engine compartment, the engine does not “take” oil and starts without the slightest stuttering. We noticed only a rusty coating on the rubber that is responsible for the cushioning of the mask.

From the outside, the car looks very good. For a year, we managed to avoid any scuffs or breakdowns in the parking lot. The only scratch on the hood, which probably suffered from contact with a too high curb.

Inside, we notice the usual used-car scuffs on the plastic. They are located mainly at the bottom of the door, right next to the bottle compartment. As you know, they occur mainly during careless landing and exit from the car. The rest of the cabin elements are not scratched and, most importantly, they do not creak when driving over bumps. Seat upholstery is not torn anywhere. However, there was one very slight discoloration on the driver's seat. Given the way Suzuki is used, this is hardly a downside.

Suzuki Splash is a good city kid. It still drives like new after 30 miles, the interior design has stood the test of time and all indications are that it will be able to handle the adverse conditions on our roads for a long time to come.
