Suzuki Swift Sport. It's great, but would you buy it?

They say calling the Suzuki Swift Sport a "hot hat" is blasphemy. They say it's too weak and too slow. And I'll tell you this: maybe THIS is a hot hatch?

Suzuki Swift Sport has an engine that develops only 140 hp. At the same time, it is small even for the B segment. And yet it has a few tricks up its sleeve, thanks to which it will not win against the Polo GTI or Fiesta ST, but it will certainly find its fans.

Where do you get such confidence from?

Mini. Real Mini.

Suzuki Swift Sport it was often compared to the Mini. After all, both manufacturers are building small cars designed for go-kart driving. Still, the Mini isn't the same Mini, and the Swift isn't quite as fast.

However, it is "mini". Because as B-segment cars grow, providing more and more comfort for travelers, the Swift stays true to its compact size. It should work in the city, not on the highways. Thus, it is less than 3,9 m long, 1,49 m high and just over 1,7 m wide.

Even though it has lost some character compared to previous sports, the new generation looks pretty good. It has LED lights, a spoiler and two more exhaust pipes. Compared to normal Swift, stands out with bumpers and wheel sizes - after all, here we get light 17s.

The interior of the Suzuki Swift Sport is simple with a sporty touch.

There are many red accessories in the interior. We can see them on the tachometer, in the central tunnel or as stitching on the seats. I would not call this interior boring, but it is quite simple.

A big plus of bucket seats with built-in headrests. They are narrow, but hold well in corners. However, one cannot fail to note the quality of the finish. Ford Fiesta ST or Volkswagen Polo GTI is a different story. Here, in Suzuki Swift Sport, hard plastic prevails.

However, you'll love the multimedia system with navigation, CarPlay and Android Auto. This is definitely not a technologically backward machine. AT Suzuki Swift Sport after all, we have Suzuki Safety Support systems at our disposal. SWIFT brakes on its own when it thinks a collision with another vehicle may occur. It also warns us against fatigue. We also have active cruise control. In addition, the price list includes an interesting item "safe brake and clutch". The fact is that in a frontal collision, the brake and clutch collapse, reducing the risk of injury to the legs.

W new Suzuki Swift Sport there is enough space in front and quite a bit in the back. Children can still go there, but I would not force adults to do this ...

And in the trunk? Capacity 265 liters basic and 579 liters with backrests folded down. Enough in the city.

Lots of sports, only low speeds

Suzuki Swift Sport it comes with only one 1.4 turbo engine with 140 hp. The maximum torque here is 230 Nm at 2500 rpm, which, in combination with a 6-speed manual transmission, allows you to accelerate to 100 km/h in 8,1 seconds. Badly.

Especially because of its own weight. Suzuki Swift Sportat just 975 kg, you can promise yourself more. When driving calmly, you won't notice too stiff suspension, which is quite comfortable in the city, and you won't hear a loud exhaust sound. There is also no choice of driving modes, so Swift is always the same.

And yet I parted from him with regret. Clio RS, Polo GTI, Fiesta ST are solid hot hatches, but most of all adrenaline when you go very fast.

Well Suzuki Swift Sport it looks like. You are driving on a winding road. Bend in front of you. Braking, three, going down inside, release the gas to the floor. In the meantime, you fought for traction, felt every movement of the car, felt the satisfaction of driving it. Only ... on the odometer was only 100 km / h.

That's where the magic of agile lies Suzuki. You can prove yourself as a driver and enjoy it, but you do not have to drastically exceed the legal speed limits.

Don't get me wrong, this is not a slow car. Acceleration in so little Swifty it just feels better, so does the speed. Anyway, the top speed here is 210 km/h, and I got the impression that the chassis easily copes with higher speeds.

If you don't need to compare yourself to others, then Suzuki Swift Sport can bring you a lot of driving pleasure.

And this pleasure should not be expensive - in the combined cycle it will consume 5,6 l / 100 km, in the extra-urban cycle 0,8 l / 100 km more, and in the city - 6,8 l / 100 km. Very dynamic driving resulted in fuel consumption of about 7,5 l / 100 km on the highway - I think that this is a very worthy result for this style of driving.

And then the spell was broken

Until then, one could say - I should have it! It's definitely cheaper than stronger and bigger competitors! I don't want to ruin the enthusiasm, but...

Prizes Suzuki Swift Sport They start at PLN 79, but at this price we have almost everything. We only pay extra for polish and less important accessories.

And how much do competitors cost? Fiesta ST - PLN 89. Volkswagen Polo GTI - PLN 850. It's bigger, but they're not at all devoid of equipment because they're also top-of-the-line versions of those models, and on top of that they're better finished and a lot faster. Fiesta is 84 seconds faster in the sprint to "hundreds".

Anyway, PLN 10k in this price range is a lot, because the difference is more than 12%, but no doubt many interested parties will prefer to pay extra and get this slightly larger and slightly faster car.

However, if you want to buy a really small car that can give you a lot of driving pleasure, remember that Suzuki Swift Sport he's really good at it.
