Suzuki Swift in Japanese style

Someone will be satisfied with a piece of the beach with an overgrown pond nearby, and someone will get to Beirut by hitchhiking - everyone spends their free time in different ways. Like everyone else, city cars of various types attract. If practicality doesn't matter and style is paramount, then you can go to Japan. What is the Suzuki Swift IV like?

The fourth generation of the urban Suzuki looks like Las Vegas compared to a fishing village compared to its predecessor - the car has changed beyond recognition. It went on sale in 2005, taking on the style and even the light ambience of a MINI Cooper. Racing success only emphasized the sporty taste of the model. Little Swift is no longer a boring, impassable tractor. He just started paying attention. But was it still indestructible?

SUZUKI SWIFT - A MIX OF GOOD

Despite the fact that there is a ratio like “the newer the car, the more troublesome used”, Suzuki Swift breaks this stereotype a little, because it does not break down all the time. However, she is not flawless either. Probably the most serious problem is rust - the car is poorly protected from corrosion. In addition, it is difficult to single out characteristic and dangerous problems. Sometimes the gearbox sticks - there may be play on the lever. You can also observe small leaks and damage to rubber-metal suspension parts. It's also worth bearing in mind that the brake system wears out fairly quickly, the Fiat diesel likes to take oil, and the Sport version may require clutch replacement due to more intensive use. The design of the car is simple, so maintenance is not difficult. And how does the machine work every day?

The three-door version is a fairly rare aftermarket copy. In addition, in this version, the seats do not have memory, and after tilting and letting passengers onto the sofa, each time you have to adjust again. The more practical option prevails with more doors and a gasoline engine under the hood. Initially, they were all too expensive - but since the production of the Suzuki Swift IV ended in 3rd year, now the secondary market is tempting for the price. Compared to other designs, Swift is convincing in many ways, but you have a few drawbacks.

AUTO AS A WAY OF LIFE

Suzuki Swift is no ordinary subcompact. If this were the case, the manufacturer would try to put as many Tesco nets in the trunk as possible, passengers would be happy on the couch, however, for the first few hundred meters, and the capacity for urban trinkets would exceed the volume of a woman's handbag. Meanwhile, Swift IV does not even try to pretend that all this is not indifferent to him. The trunk is only 213L, the back seat is cramped and uncomfortable, and there is little storage space. Even the one at the door does not impress with its capabilities. In the case of this car, however, all this is not offensive, because someone who believes that the car is an alternative to the tram will not buy it. Swift was truly built for passionate people.

The little Japanese is focused not on practicality, but on fun. It is small and maneuverable, the city is its element. It is easy to park with it, and it can be squeezed everywhere. It is ideal for young people who are looking for a car for life, and they are bored with the look of the MINI. Swift puts fun first.

The interior has an Asian flavor - this has its pros and cons. It is so simple that even a Capuchin woman will not have any problems with service. Unfortunately, the plastics used are hard and unpleasant. Moreover, they are also often gloomy. Luckily, they fit quite well and don't usually squeak. The seat design is also closer to Asian weirdos than post-Oktoberfest European ones, but fast-paced riders will find something for themselves - the Sport version has a better seat profile, this is worth considering. Unfortunately, the suspension in it is also reinforced - if such an instance can bring a lot of joy in slalom, then when swallowing kilometers along our pits on the roads, it already sags a little. However, it is on flat ground with the Swift slalom that you can have the most fun.

The car drives a little like a kart. Small overhangs, firm suspension, decent steering and a short shift lever travel - the car is really pleasant to drive. On the other hand, large mirrors and good visibility in all directions help in the city. But the engines lack emotion.

The best is a 1.6 liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 125 hp. Mobile and mobile - corresponds to Swift's temperament. Unfortunately, this is also the strongest offer, so lovers of strong sensations should have enough. Rather, I am sure that this is not enough. A weaker bike is 1.5 l 102 hp, but the most frequent guest under the hood is 1.3 l 92 hp. The car is light, so this power is enough for smooth movement, but the unit, unfortunately, is not flexible. Less than 3 rpm He is clearly on vacation - only above this limit something starts to happen. By the way, the cabin also starts to buzz, because the sound insulation can no longer cope with the sound of the engine. Interestingly, a Fiat diesel was also used in the Suzuki Swift. It's only 1.3l and 69-75km. Of course, he does not break speed records, but in his case this is not the case. It's really economical, and the 75-horsepower version even has a slight hint of dynamics - you just need to close your eyes to turbo lag.

The Japanese city dweller is an interesting escape from everyday life. If the Fiat Panda is too common and the MINI is too hackneyed, then the Suzuki Swift IV is the perfect alternative. In fact, it is a worthy successor to its predecessor. The solid construction has finally been packaged in a body that is a pleasure to look at.
