The Suzuki Vitara is a very balanced car in every respect, and thanks to its light weight and fine tuning, it is very pleasant to drive. The 1.4 version of the Boosterjet 4WD All Grip S works hard and has everything you need, even if the 1.6 diesel version is better for long distance riders.

Rejuvenated, that's what comes to my mind when looking at this new Suzuki Vitara bright red parked in front of me. The new Vitara retains only the name of the old model and looks like a conceptually and fundamentally new car. It is much lighter (1210 kg dry), versatile and easy to use, also thanks to the choice of both 2- and 4-wheel drive; a feature that at the moment can no longer be ignored in this category.

Only available in 5-door version, aesthetically new Suzuki Vitara it is more aggressive, fresh and streamlined. 418 cm long and 178 cm wide, the car is also compact enough not to be uncomfortable even in the city.

La Suzuki Vitara This is certainly not a prototype of a city car, but for an SUV it is not bad at all. Dimensions are retained (Vitara is 418 cm long, 178 cm wide and 161 cm high), and the raised driver's seat guarantees excellent front and rear visibility, further enhanced by front and rear parking sensors, as well as a parking camera standard on this version.

New controls Suzuki Vitara they are very soft and do not tire at all on the move, which is really pleasant to surprise, especially considering the off-road vocation of the Vitara. The leap forward compared to the older generation is remarkable. So much S Cross in it Vitarastarting with light yet communicative steering, precise gearbox and lightweight clutch.

Outside the city

If by a suburban area we mean off-road, then the new Suzuki Vitara he loses that harsh and clean off-road nature. In fact, it loses downshifts, but still retains the hill descent assist and AWD system with automatic torque distribution (even to each wheel). We have not tackled the extreme off-road conditions, but we can confirm that the Vitara's traction is flawless on unpaved roads and with little grip.

If instead we run Vitara on a winding (paved) road, we immediately understand where the efforts of Suzuki technicians have gone. In terms of dynamics, the car offers good traction and good control, and very little stays in corners to be an SUV. The chassis feels light, and the car's position and precise, communicative steering instill confidence, always allowing you to understand what's going on under the wheels.

The Motor 1.4 Boosterjet produces 140 Cv e 220 Nm; it may sound small, but it has enough torque and power to run the Vitara effortlessly. 0-100 km / h is overcome in 10,5 seconds, and the maximum speed is 200 km / h.

The engine is very supple at low revs - a nice advantage in terms of consumption - but sometimes it is also able to accelerate decisively and decently to 6.000 rpm, accompanying you with a pleasant metallic sound.

On the highway Suzuki Vitara it suffers a little because of the "cubic" shape and height above the ground, but overall not so bad even on long journeys. Il trunk from 375 liters this is good, but not great, even if the loading height allows it to be used down to the last millimeter. On the other hand, the space on board is good for both front and rear passengers, who have no problem even if they are over one meter eighty in height.
