Bosch spark plugs selection by vehicle

About 350 million different spark plugs are manufactured annually at the Bosch plant, which is almost a million spark plugs in one working day. Given the variety of cars produced around the world, you can imagine how many candles are required for different makes and models of cars, provided that each car can have from 3 to 12 spark plugs. Let's take a look at this variety of candles, consider the decoding of their markings, as well as the selection of Bosch spark plugs for the car.

Benefits of Bosch spark plugs

  • There are practically no tolerances at the factories of manufacturing Bosch candles, everything is produced exactly according to the specified parameters. In addition, modern materials are used in the manufacture of electrodes: iridium, platinum, rhodium, which allows to extend the life of the candles.
  • Modern developments: long spark path, allowing more accurate spark in the combustion chamber. And also a directional side electrode, which contributes to better combustion of the fuel-air mixture in engines with direct injection.

Questions and answers:

How to choose the right candles for your car? You need to focus on the type of ignition, fuel system, engine compression, as well as on the operating conditions of the engine (forced, deformed, turbocharged, etc.).

How to choose NGK candles? The combination of letters and numbers on the candles indicates their characteristics. Therefore, first of all, you need to select those that are better suited to a specific engine.

How to distinguish original NGK candles from a fake? On one side of the hexagon is marked with a batch number (there is no marking for a fake), and the insulator is very smooth (for a fake it is rough).
