It is not surprising that the question often arises: which dishwasher tablets to choose so as not to overpay, and at the same time enjoy perfectly washed dishes? A cursory glance at the packaging, you can conclude that the cheapest dishwasher tablets are significantly different in appearance from the more expensive ones. The higher the price of the product, the more different layers it consists of, and even completely changes its shape - from classic cubes to soft capsules for the dishwasher. On packaging, manufacturers proudly place labels such as "Quantum", "All in One", "Max" or "Platinum", which, when combined with visually poorer products, should offer better performance. Is it really true? How do the most expensive tablets and capsules of individual companies differ from the most basic versions of this product?

X-in-1 dishwasher tablets - does it really work?

Dishwasher cubes, in their simplest version, consist of pressed detergent, often in two colors, with a distinctive ball in the center. Manufacturers indicate that 90-95% of all detergents are alkaline cleaners responsible for softening water.

The tablets also contain surfactants (about 1-5%) that dissolve food residues, alkaline salts to break down fat, as well as chlorine compounds that disinfect dishes, corrosion inhibitors and pleasant flavors that protect the dishwasher from corrosion. Thus, even a classic tablet (eg Finish Powerball Classic with pre-soak function) contains effective cleaning agents. What else do the so-called multi-chamber products offer and how does their composition differ from the basic options?

In more expensive X-tablets, not only detergent, but also rinse aid and salt are supplied in one dishwasher. Usually they are hidden in additional chambers, which is also the answer to the question why individual elements are fluid. Therefore, of course, we can talk about even better operation.

After using such a capsule, the dishes will not only be thoroughly washed, but will also become shiny and without unsightly stains. Although their higher quality is not associated with better removal of standard soils or disinfection of dishes, after using salt and a rinse aid tablet, they will appear cleaner. and shines - precisely because of getting rid of the stone.

Dishwasher softgels - are they better than tablets?

Dishwasher softgels (eg Fairy Platinum All in one) are also becoming more popular. They usually consist of a large chamber filled with loose detergent and 2-3 smaller chambers filled with additional detergents. Usually this is a rinse aid, a product designed to protect glass or silver, a degreaser, as well as microparticles that “scrub” dishes (as in the Finish Quantum product).

And in this case, we can conclude that the best-packed capsules will give even better results than regular dishwasher tablets. The word “best parts” is important here, because their base versions usually consist of dishwashing detergent, salt and rinse, which is exactly the same as multi-chamber tablets.

Which dishwasher tablets to choose?

When considering which dishwasher tablets will be the best, you should be guided primarily by your own expectations. If you are dealing with a very hard water problem, a better solution than multi-chamber products may be to use cheaper dishwasher tablets in the basic version and add salt and rinse aid separately. Then the dishwasher will collect the amount expected for a given cycle, which, after all, differs depending on the power of the device and the selected washing mode.

However, if you have not noticed that after each wash your glasses turn white with a coating, and stains are visible on all cutlery in the form of streaks, then test multi-chamber cleaning tablets or capsules for dishwashers. They may be sufficient in case of lower water hardness levels, and at the same time they will return the dishes to their original shine and ensure a long service life of the dishwasher.

Also remember that even the best cubes will not be effective if you do not take care of the cleanliness of the filter. At least once a month, check for food residue and use dishwashing detergent or a tablet. Whenever you feel that the washed dishes have an unpleasant smell or no longer stick to them, this may be a sign that it is time to clean the appliance.
