This is what the Audi RS e-tron GT looks like, the first all-electric RS

Rumors are over, Audi has finally confirmed the arrival of the Audi RS e-tron GT as the first 100% electric member of the RS family.

The Audi RS e-tron GT is an all-electric vehicle that will be the first member of the Audi RS family. This plugin is based on the e-tron GT and its performance has already been tested in the hands of Lucas di Grassi. , official Audi Formula E driver and champion of the 2016-2017 season, at the Neuburg circuit.

During this demo, he shared some images of what promises to be the German brand's most efficient electric motor.

The Audi e-tron RS GT, although disguised, can be seen with very extravagant Porsche-style wheel arches and coupe lines. The LED headlights have dynamic lighting both front and rear. The overall low line is enhanced by a wide stance and is accentuated by the massive Singleframe front grille and exaggerated rear diffuser.

The mechanical sports car will use a dual engine layout, one engine in the front and one in the rear, linked to a two-speed gearbox. The firm hasn't revealed any specific data at all, but it's expected to hit 0 km/h in less than four seconds, with peak power per engine in excess of 100kW (270hp).

According to Motorpasión, it should be assumed that Audi offers .

More details about this Audi electric model are not yet known and although it is not yet confirmed as a production model, the firm already envisions it as such, however the lack of confirmed data opens up the possibility that this car could also be expected to have three motors: one motor on the front axle and two on the rear. This three-engine configuration is already used in the Audi e-tron S and e-tron S Sportback, which have a maximum output of 503 hp.

As if that weren't enough, the Audi RS e-tron GT has a dual cooling system; one for each group of elements operating at different temperatures. The coldest is responsible for lowering the temperature of the battery, and the hottest cools the electric motors and electronics. In addition, it combines two more circuits, hot and cold, to control the air conditioning in the cabin. The four circuits can be interconnected with valves to maximize efficiency by playing with temperature differences.

The Audi e-tron RS GT is expected to be unveiled before the end of 2020, so production is slated for 2021.
