TCT - Dual Clutch Transmission

The latest generation 6-speed automatic transmission with double dry clutch developed by Alfa Romeo.

Conceptually, it consists of two parallel transmissions, each with its own clutch, which allows you to select and engage the next gear while the previous one is engaged. Gear shifting is then carried out by simply replacing the respective clutches step by step, guaranteeing the continuity of the transmission of torque and therefore traction, which provides greater driving comfort, but also a sportier response.

It can be defined as an active safety system, since it is one of the transmissions that has the largest number of interactions with the vehicle systems, capable of interacting with: steering, brake controls, accelerator, DNA selector, Start & Stop system, ABS, ESP. and an inclinometer (tilt sensor for installing the Hill Holder system).
