Maintenance and care of the miter box and miter box

| Wooden miter boxes must always be dry, otherwise the wood may swell. Use a dry brush to clean out the saw guides, and if there is an indentation between the sidewalls and the base, pay particular attention to removing sawdust that may be blocking the indentation. |
 | Beech miter boxes and blocks should not be varnished or treated in any way, but simply stored in a dry place. |
 | Like plastic miter boxes, metal miter boxes do not require special care. Use a dry brush to clean the saw guides and, if necessary, wash them in soapy water and dry before use. |
Storage | |
 | As with all instruments, if you take care of your miter box, it will last longer and stay accurate longer. Wooden miter boxes and blocks should always be stored in dry conditions and preferably where there is no dust clogging the saw guides and where they cannot be damaged. Plastic and metal miter boxes should be stored where they cannot be damaged, and in the case of plastic miter boxes, away from direct sunlight, which can damage the plastic. |
