Fingerprints, retinal scans - such identity verification technologies are already present in the world around us. That's not to say there's nothing better in the field of bio-identification, according to Canadian company Biony, which has designed a bracelet that identifies its wearer by heartbeat.

Nymi can be used instead of a password to log in and confirm mobile payments. The idea is based on the notion that the pattern of heart rate is unique to the same person and does not repeat. The bracelet uses an electrocardiogram to record it. After reading the waveform assigned to it, it transmits this entry via Bluetooth to a compatible smartphone app.

According to the creators of the solution, this identification method has an advantage over fingerprints. A year ago, German hackers proved that the fingerprint sensor in the new iPhone is relatively easy to break.
