Tesla Model S and Model X get Sentry Mode to deter thieves

Tesla Motors has begun equipping Model S and Model X with a special Sentry Mode. The new program is designed to protect cars from theft.

Sentry has two different stages of operation. The first, Alert, activates external cameras that start recording if sensors detect suspicious movement around the vehicle. At the same time, a special message appears on the center display in the passenger compartment, warning that the cameras are working.

If a criminal tries to get into a car, for example, breaks glass, then the "Alarm" mode is activated. The system will increase the screen brightness and the audio system will start playing music at full power. Earlier it was reported that Sentry Mode would play Toccata and Fugu in C minor by Johann Sebastian Bach during the attempted theft. The work will be done in metal.

Tesla Motors previously developed a new special mode for its electric vehicles called Dog Mode. This feature is for dog owners who can now leave their pets alone in a parked car.

When dog mode is activated, the air conditioning system continues to maintain a comfortable interior temperature. In addition, the system displays a message on the display of the multimedia complex: “My master will be back soon. Do not worry! This function is intended to warn passers-by who, upon seeing a dog locked in a car in hot weather, may call the police or break glass.
