Tesla will offer free charging for electric vehicles for Christmas

Tesla is aiming to reduce waiting times at charging stations this holiday season. To do this, it will offer free access to the Supercharger network for all models of the brand, although this will only be on agreed days and times.

Tesla is making Supercharging free for the holidays, but with some caveats. The move, which aims to reduce wait times at the automaker's charging stations during this peak season, is limited to off-peak hours in some locations.

California, Arizona and Nevada are the main areas with this service

confirms that between Thursday, December 23rd and Sunday, December 26th, owners traveling on certain US itineraries can receive free charging at certain stations between 7:10 AM and 3:XNUMX AM (local time zone). The benefit is available for all Tesla models, including Model S, Model , Model X, and Model Y.

Most of the stations covered by this promotion are concentrated on the West Coast, mainly in California, where over 30 stations are free, and also in Arizona (10 locations) and Nevada (7 locations). This makes sense given Tesla's high sales and operations in this part of the country.

What other states are promising free Supercharging?

Other states promising free Supercharger charging include Colorado, Florida, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Utah. Not all charging stations in these states will be free during these times, so check to see if stations along your route are covered.

This isn't the first time Tesla has experimented with Supercharger discounts during the holidays. Elon Musk and company have struggled with Supercharger network capacity issues in the past, especially during busy periods of holiday travel, leading to long wait times and even limiting maximum charge times from time to time.

Tesla Supercharger network: the best charging network in the country

The company's rapidly expanding Supercharger network is already the best and most comprehensive electric vehicle charging network in the country, and new, more powerful terminals have significantly reduced customer wait times. However, in some parts of the country, growing demand for the company's vehicles still makes Supercharger wait times a recurring headache for owners.
