Tesla is the market leader in May

In May, 144 electric vehicles were sold worldwide, a decrease of only 600%. In other circumstances, this would be a disaster, but in the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic, this is considered an excellent indicator.

The convincing sales leader is the Tesla Model 3 with 20 sales, mainly from the Chinese market. Since the beginning of the year, its sales have exceeded 847 times the second place in the ranking - Renault Zoe. Model X is 4th with 19 units and is also in the top 1004 in terms of sales among electric vehicles and hybrids.

Undoubtedly, the productivity of the American automaker will continue to grow, as the compact crossover Model Y will be released. It will also be assembled at the Chinese Tesla plant.

Surprisingly, the 4th place in the ranking is VW Golf-e, which in April was only 14th. And the release of the new VW ID.3 is expected. In general, electric models occupy 2,8% of the market, while in 2019 this figure was 2,5%.
