Test drive Ford Fiesta Active

Appearance Fiesta Active

Fiesta Active is the first model from the Active family to be commercially launched and is already available.

It is characterized by a rugged yet elegant exterior design. The Fiesta combines the advantages of an SUV with the dynamic behavior of other Fiesta versions. It features dark plastic protective strips on the edge of the front bumper, on the wheel arches, on the aprons and at the low rear. There is a dark grille, and the front fog lights are now housed in C-shaped bumper cavities.

Upgraded and rear bumper. Now it has a more impressive look. The car has 17-inch alloy wheels, which, in fact, are new for the Fiesta Active. The tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 4, size 205/45, and are available in two colors (rough metal or stark black).

Also in this version are added bright colors such as gold (Lux Yellow), raspberry (Ruby Red) and blue (Blue Wave), which can be combined with black or red.

Salon brand new Ford classic for all models of the company. But there is little upholstery in the material, which has become more durable. According to the company, seat covers have passed 60000 test cycles to resist wear, while color fastness is monitored by a “bad weather” system and analyzed by a spectrometer to ensure that they do not fade after intense exposure to ultraviolet radiation.

High quality materials, smooth surfaces and an intuitive layout characterize the interior. The steering wheel and gear levers are made of brushed aluminum and are of high quality. Decorative elements that contrast with the body color are in the center of the dashboard.

The Fiesta Active sports seats are available with a colored stitching that creates horizontal stripes up to the center of the back. which provides back support for the driver and four-way adjustment for the driver and front passenger. The opening panoramic roof allows sunlight to enter the interior.

Engine Fiesta Active

Fiesta Active is available with the EcoBoost gasoline engine. Motorists are presented with equipment with a capacity of 100, 125 and 140 hp, with a torque of 170 Nm and 180 Nm.

The engine is currently offered with a single cylinder deactivation system to reduce emissions. It is the first three-cylinder engine in the world with a cylinder deactivation function. This technology can turn a cylinder off and on again in 14 milliseconds.

In addition, the Fiesta Active is available with a new 1,5-liter TDCi engine producing 85 and 120 horsepower at 3750 and 3600 rpm respectively, while torque is 215 and 270 Nm at 1750 rpm. It is the first high-performance diesel engine ever installed in a Fiesta and is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, regardless of performance, with CO2 emissions of 103 g / km and 112 g / km.

The weight of the machine is increased by about 40-60 kg due to the addition of plastic protectors.

Prices

Ford Motor Hellas has already announced sales prices for the Fiesta Active, which starts from 17 euros. It is offered in three trim levels: Active-244, Active-1 and Active-2, and standard equipment on all versions includes safety and driver assistance technologies: Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Keeping Warning (LDW), Variable Speed ​​Limit Assist (ASLD), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC).

How Fiesta Active rides

Fiesta Active offers three driving programs:

  • Normal mode. Uses standard ESC and Traction Control settings for daily driving
  • Eco mode. Only available for a six-speed manual gearbox and adjusts engine and throttle settings for greater fuel economy
  • Slippery mode. Adjusts the ESC and Traction Control settings to increase confidence on low traction surfaces such as snow and ice, reduces wheel spin in straight lines, and accelerates from the spot.
