Kratek test: Ford Fiesta 1.4i (71 kW) Deluxe

Name luxurious In the case of a limited edition Fiesta may not be a very good choice, since you think about comfort, prestige first when that is the word (at least to me). It's probably clear from the photos that the Fiesta Deluxe didn't get a gold ashtray and red suede seats, but anyway it's a sportier version of one of the most dynamic cars in its class (think of last year's eleven small car comparison!).

An image of a pocket rocket in black and white!

Party v black or white got very attractive 17-inch wheels (and therefore an uncomfortably small turning diameter), a nicer and louder tailpipe trim (and therefore less sound comfort on long highway trips, especially for the rear passenger), some additional beauty services ( spoiler, sills, router) rear air) and Eibach suspension, which miraculously does not turn the car into a "bucket on wheels." Playing with the sports suspension often results in an extremely uncomfortable car (especially when combined with large wheels), and the passengers of this Festi have nothing to complain about the poor comfort. Spring change effect is great and would love to have it on many standard machines!

Tuning engine not tested

It is a pity that with a very pleasant combination of chassis and appearance, the engine remained only a 1,4-liter gasoline engine. On paper, it can handle 96 thirsty ones, but they start waking up yawning only at the top third of the engine speed. Because it is so five-speed gearbox with relatively large gear ratios, frequent work with it will be a necessity: when the car must overtake on the highway at a speed of 128 kilometers per hour, there is nothing left but to switch to fourth gear and open the throttle fully.

Due to the fact that the engine requires higher rpm for faster movement and at the same time it just roars like that, consumption of almost nine liters doesn't seem huge. You can also be more economical, as at 130 km / h in fifth gear and 3.400 rpm, the on-board computer shows a current consumption of just over six liters.

Question to Ford: and is there enough space under the hood for the 1,6-liter EcoBoost? Let's buy.

Daytime running lights for traffic safety?

This Fiesta also has built-in daytime running lights. LED . Upstairs, nice. But be careful: when only daytime running lights are on, the taillights are off and the dashboard is on. Therefore, when we start driving around the city in the dark (or at dusk), we may not even notice that there are only "ice cubes" in front of us, and nothing behind! Be careful not to pass the sleepy driver of the fresh buns.

evaluation

  • Standard "naughty" cars are usually fine tuning examples, and the Fiesta Deluxe is no different, with one in 35 buyers getting an outstanding and well-driven (but not racing) car for their money.
