Short test: Peugeot Expert Carpet L2 2.0 HDi 160 Business

There colleague Sebastian wrote that this is the best Peugeot. This is probably true, as they say in Peugeot, but I only partially agree with this.

As a racer and a fan of dynamic driving, I am of course very passionate about sports cars, so I am also willing to compromise that follows the coupe's body shape and the usually stiff suspension. Plus, my family is used to it. You are right, you can jokingly say that she had no other choice ...

But then I try the great expert and find that you can enjoy the other side of usability as well. The space offered by the expert can also be used to carry four bikes (tested!), and all the picnic supplies make for a pleasant ride. Indeed, we tested a very powerful version with a 160-litre HDi turbo-diesel engine, which - ha! - with XNUMX "horses" it is not far behind the best Peugeot!

The engine, along with the six-speed automatic transmission, is a real hit: The slopes are not only a little snack to get past slower trucks as if in the blink of an eye, and it's easy to hitch a jet ski or boat trailer to the tow hook (ah, wet dreams), but it also consumes only about nine liters and provides a smooth shifting gears regardless of driving style. If you only think of a half-baked Peugeot manual or, even worse, robotic gearboxes, then this automatic transmission is really the right choice.

Double sliding doors and eight seating areas are designed for large families. Minor flaws included a heavy tailgate (often in big cars!) and wasted refueling with the key, while major ones included exterior mirrors and rear seats. The side mirrors clearly suffered from jolts, as they shook so hard on the track that the driver could no longer see what was happening behind them, and the rear seats were so heavy that I decided to remove them only once. . Unfortunately, the third row does not sink into the ground, but you have to remove it manually to make room, and this is hard work even for a young and trained person. If you're a little older, have back problems, or leave the logistics to the women, then you shouldn't be doing this task.

Comfort also includes a good selection of equipment, which Tepee certainly offers with Business attribution. A two-way air conditioner will also work well in a large space, although despite the separate ventilation for the second and third row seats, it can't work wonders, navigation always got us to our destination, and cruise control and speed limiter kept your wallet full at least until the end of the ride.

We recommend heated front seats on cold days, an extra rear-view mirror is also helpful if you have hard-working kids, and a hands-free system and extra storage boxes above the front passengers make driving even easier. There, the passengers had only an unpleasant aftertaste: those in the second row missed the classic sliding windows, since they only had a small opening with a longitudinally sliding sash, and everyone had security problems, because similar cars in the rear It's not as safe (or equipped with a security system, if you prefer) as classic minivans.

Regardless of what is written, I want to emphasize again: if someone thinks that it is impossible to enjoy such a big machine, he has not tried it (the correct one). It's a pleasure, but definitely different from a coupe.
