But the Lagoon is just that: not only for the most part. supports regular customers, she is respected even by many who can only praise the Germans. He just needs to get into her and seduce her.

Yes, the Laguna of this generation is now beautiful over the years, and even a recent visit to a beauty salon did not result in a new car. This is not to say that it stands out as the spirit of the past. On the contrary, she may not actually be insanely beautiful (but for whom), but it seems so exemplary design product in my time.

Because I say: large non-German cars today do not attract interest from the very beginning. It is also usually not enough for the German ADAC to say that the car is more reliable than any German creation. It's a pity. Laguna is a car worth considering and testing.

In fact, the clearance is a bit confusing: while there is nothing sporty about it (high seat!), Its handling is sportier than many cars with a sportier history and a more general image on the back. Even if the Laguna doesn't have a steering wheel to steer all four wheels.

The interior is technically well thought out.

But let's start from the very beginning. An open door invites you into a space that, like the exterior, may not be a candidate for the Industrial Design of the Year award, but it certainly grabs attention at first glance. Even later, after spending time with him, he is no different: the interior is technically well-designed, well-made, and gives an impression of solidity and solidity, as well as a little heightened prestige, which is important for cars of this size. ... There are no comments on the joints between the parts, the moving parts are flawless, the materials look above average, well, especially if there is a lot of leather inside, and small parts like buttons do not cause any complications when used. In the buffet they said: “She played everything... "And that's a lot. When you sit outside of this Latitudeyou wonder if it makes any sense at all in this part of the world or if it has to be taken as a completely different story to understand it.

But lest you think that Laguna is flawlessly perfect! See if you drink (eg water) while driving, it will be difficult for you to put the drink away. Place for a bottle There it is, but there is only one, and it is in front of the air gap. You probably don't want to drink warm water even on cold days? The rest of the landfills are satisfying, even if you don't list them as the best. They are few, good and useful. Good and more than that air conditioningwhich is fast and efficient (despite the blackbody and the sun!), especially (and again) the possibility of three levels of intensity to establish a given climate is commendable: moderate, normal and fast.

This case is an example for many, well, in fact, for everyone, since it is useful and at the moment (and in such an implementation) is still unique. In a sense, the exterior mirrors are also surprising, which at first glance (too) small, but it turns out that the field of view in them is large enough for safe movement in both directions. Maybe a little more about music. There is a lagoon great Bose system with CD changer (6) and USB and AUX sockets. Anyone who likes to listen to good vocals will have tears in their eyes, even high notes are great and very real, and fans of hip-hop and the like don't buy Laguna Bose anyway.

Practical limousine

We know the Laguna is a station wagon with five doors in the back. It may not be exactly a prestigious question according to some unwritten (and dubiously reasonable) rule, but it's extremely practical. Easy access and the possibility of a fair increase in the trunk in a third. The seat does not fold down and the seatbacks can be engaged in classic or reverse with a lever. There are two more hooks for bags, (only) one flashlight and a 12 volt socket. In practice, a person does not even need much more.

Another drive part. The engine has convinced many times, and 175 'horse' quite enough for such a large or heavy machine, but in this Lagoon a little is lost. The "fault" is the gearbox, with which Renault is not as lucky as it could be. No, there is nothing particularly wrong with that, just everything else is noticeably better. It's just solid, a little annoying that he only has one program (so nothing "winter" or "sport"), but it's also not smart (trainable), and if it does, it doesn't show it enough.

Of all the accessories, it only has an option manual switching (with a lever), but even these movements are quite hard, but nothing sporty. It will also not be included in the annals of overtaking speed, so the "loss" of the engine is certainly understandable now. The red square starts with 4.200 rpm per minute, but the control electronics allow the engine to rotate at speeds up to 4.500 rpm in accelerated throttle and manual modes. At high revs, noise already appears, somehow incompatible with the good overall impression of the high prestige of this car.

Fuel consumption?

The gearbox has six gears and the on-board computer shows the following consumption values ​​in the last gear: at 100 km / h. 5,2, in 130 7,3 and at 160 9,3 liter of gas oil per 100 km. For this combination of horsepower, gearbox, weight and aerodynamics, that's a pretty decent figure, as well as our test mileage (9,3). And in the chapter on mechanics, let's return to the steering wheel - it gives great feedback events under the wheels and unobtrusively sporty on all points of assessment, as well as on the position on the road. It looks like it very reliable and the driver feels good. At the same time, there seems to be a lot of body tilt in corners, but this has a lot to do with the expectations of the sports steering wheel and the position of the seduced driver.

And in short: an attractive, highly attractive vehicle that deserves more attention.
