It will be difficult to decide which one is better than his hands. Not because it would be worse, but on the contrary, it shines for both. The main reason we should look is that Citroën, like Peugeot, has decided to abandon the family car program, where the Citroën C8 reigned supreme. Thus, the Grand C4 Picasso, the multifunctional Berlingo Multispace and Spacetourer for people with great needs are now available to families with many children.

The latter performed well in the test. From a layman's perspective from afar, any such car can simply be labeled as a van. But the Spacetourer is much more than just a van. Already its shape, rather complex for a "van", shows that this is not an ordinary vehicle designed to carry goods or the main transport of a large number of passengers. Metallic paint, big wheels and lightweight rims with lightly tinted windows make it immediately clear that the Spacetourer is something more. What's more, this mindset reinforces the interior. Such cars would not have been protected a few years ago, but now Citroën offers them almost in the van class. At the same time, the French should take off their hats and acknowledge their good work.

Even more surprising is the list of standard equipment. When a person looks at him, he must once again make sure that he is looking at the right equipment, at the right machine. We're not used to being so extensive in this class. If we go in order and highlight only the most important, ABS, AFU (emergency braking system), ESC, ASR, help when starting off, steering wheel, steering wheel adjustable in height and depth, driver, front passenger and side air duct. airbags, LED daytime running lights, trip computer, gear ratio indicator, cruise control and speed limiter, tire pressure monitoring, height-adjustable driver's seat, automatic air conditioning and a decent car radio with Bluetooth hands-free system. If we add an acoustic package (better soundproofing of the engine and passenger compartment) and a visibility package (which includes a rain sensor, automatic light switching and, especially, a self-dimming interior mirror), we have to admit that this Spacetourer is not meant to fly. For an additional three thousand dollars, it also offered navigation equipment, a removable bench seat in the third row, electric and remote control for opening the side doors, and metallic paint as optional equipment. In a word, the equipment, like many passenger cars, would not be ashamed.

But more than the amount of equipment, the Spacetourer surprised with its engine and driving performance. The 150-litre BlueHdi diesel runs continuously and decisively, while 370 “horsepower” and, most importantly, 6,2 Nm of torque ensure that the driver never gets dry. Even more amazing trip. Overall, the Spacetourer runs very compactly, impresses with a solid chassis. This of course contributes to a good ride that is by no means a van, much less a truck tire. So you can easily cover long distances (which it's really made for) with the Spacetourer without wasting words on short ones. Since the Spacetourer can be a family car, it's a good idea to write down how much the trip will cut the family budget. We easily find that it is not strong. On a normal lap, the Spacetourer consumed 100 liters per 7,8 kilometers, and on an (otherwise) average it was even higher at just 100 liters per 7,7 kilometers. It is worth noting that the data was shown by the on-board computer, while the manual calculation showed only 100 liters per XNUMX kilometers. Thus, the on-board computer showed even more, and not less, than the practice of most other cars.

Beneath the line, we can only say that the Citroën Spacetourer is a pleasant surprise and certainly one of the best Citroën cars, no matter how weird it sounds or reads.
