With such expensive and exclusive cars, the question always arises

guy factor: is in the circle in which the owner moves, the effect says

expected enough?

I don't think there is fear. The 350Z has already proven itself well even in Europe. The 370Z is not just a new name for an old, shall we say, modernized model. The number has increased due to the larger volume of the engine, this is already true, but in both we can only talk about the similarity, which occurs solely due to visibility and spiritual continuity.

In this case, it would be the least sense to think about what percentage of the components have the same. And if someone asks such nonsense, the answer will be: we are talking about different cars.

The design of the new 370Z has grown quite well, it seems to have taken on a more convincing look, there are a lot of details to revisit, and from most angles it looks like something wide on the ground. Respectable.

All of this is the result of Zees' history going back to when Nissan was a Datsun; even if you look at a 240 Datsun 1969Z, you look at it at least twice, and the second time carefully.

With him began a successful story called Z, about which it would be unfair to write less book or even brochure. And at the end of the story, the 370Z, introduced this year last year, which, by the way, echoes the name of the Fairlady Z in Japan.

A little math doesn't hurt: With a simple countdown to Zey's year, we'll figure out where the name of this special 40th anniversary version came from. Translated into colloquial language, this means that such a new one can no longer be bought, but only used, which, of course, will at least slightly increase its price at some point on the timeline.

For a package that only combined two possible body colors, special wheels, navigation system and burgundy leather combined with Alcantara, they wanted three thousand, which is double the surcharge for an automatic transmission.

Definitely a worthwhile investment, especially if we still remember the guy. You know, “Yes, 370Z, but 40th anniversary! !! "

Black combined with different shades of red has always been delicious, there was no mistaking it, and so it sits inside the test Zeja.

A beautiful cockpit in which men always like to sit, even just like that, and not on a park bench. Despite the fact that you can leave the 370Z if a person is caught. And this is with great pleasure. But more on that later.

In the case of Japanese cars, there is always at least one point in the dispute over the different tastes of Europeans and Asians. Miraculously, this dispute is unnecessary; The 370Z is not shy about its origins, meaning it is still a notable Japanese product, but it is also one that most people like it on the old continent.

Moving from design to usability, we, of course, are faced with a drawback: for example, an on-board computer with a lot of data, which has only one control button, and that next to the counters (that is, from the hands), and among the data is also the temperature of the outside air; or a steering wheel that is adjustable only in height, okay, albeit together with sensors, but in this case this is not a special advantage, and many people would prefer it (the steering wheel) closer to themselves; however, when the sun is shining “in the wrong direction”, the fuel quantity and coolant temperature data are not visible; however, the right glass in the door also cannot automatically move upward.

We have come to the end of the resentment. Since this is a two-seater coupe, there is room behind the seats, two well-fenced shelves and one useful box, and even further back is the trunk, which is larger than one would expect from the exterior of the body, but its lining is rather fragile and slightly loads, but noticeable spacecraft.

Let's go back to the cockpit. The driver sits well (probably the passenger too), the seats are good, not only neat, really good, tireless even on long journeys, the steering wheel provides excellent grip, the pedals are also very good, and the gear lever is exactly where the hand is waiting ...

And if I skip it again, the Electronic Stabilization Off button is positioned so that the left thumb also presses on the mouse. However, the fact that the buttons for the longitudinal adjustment and adjustment of the seat tilt are located on the side of the center tunnel does not matter at all.

It's probably time to drive. The start button starts the engine without showing off the sound. The volume is just right, maybe even a little quiet, the color of the sound is nothing special; the frequencies are correct, sporting deep down and rising to high revs, but the voice does not lift the hair.

Much more needs to be said about the optional automatic transmission. He's generally good. But there are flies. From time to time it shimmers with a tickle, alarming. Then, often (say, from third to second gear), he simply refuses to shift, even if the revs do not rise beyond the border of the red frame.

And it doesn't have a dedicated gearshift program, although at least when you slow down before a corner (when this one unfortunately shifts quietly into a higher gear) you might want a sporty feel.

Of course, it can also be shifted manually, even with levers on the steering wheel, and in general the shifting is very good. When fully accelerated and overtaken, even up to fourth gear, it gives a pleasant sporty character, rather than a slightly racing rough overtaking feeling that then disappears (until the last seventh gear).

And in manual mode, fortunately, it does not switch automatically when the speedometer needle touches the limit (7.500) set by the RPM soft switch. And he leaves the city excellent, domineering, athletic.

Of course, this is also facilitated by the engine, which has no drawbacks. It's still not expensive, considering how many "horses" are harnessed.

An approximate estimate of the current consumption at 160 kilometers per hour (from fourth to seventh gears) based on a tape measure is 15, 12, 10 and 8 liters per 100 kilometers, and at 200 kilometers per hour (from fifth to seventh) 20, 13 and 11.

When driving at a speed of 140 kilometers per hour, and sometimes 200, it turns out that the pump has only 14 liters per 100 kilometers. Only if he is taken to GHD will he settle for just 20 liters.

This Tale 370Z is a practical proof of how fast it can be fast: in normal driving without observing the speedometer, simply shifting gears at 3.750 rpm with a quarter throttle, somewhere after a good kilometer, the speed is 190 kilometers per hour. ; nothing happens, just a gust of wind raises some liquid and you perceive traffic too quickly under our road safety law.

Now imagine that you are stepping on the gas! The engine never stops, there is always torque or power and sometimes both, and we work with the chassis, from the steering wheel to suspension and geometry.

If you thought the engine was the highlight of this Nissan, you were wrong. He's right, but he's not. When driving, the 370Z creates an exceptional feeling of human-mechanic contact, mechanic-to-ground contact, and therefore human-to-ground contact.

The collection of feedback sensations is fantastic, unique; the driver of the car really feels and feels that the controls are indeed mechanically directly linked to the steering wheel and braking system. Pleasure of the first kind.

The chassis is really a little harsh on the pits, but this is not critical, far from it, but since this is a sports coupe. If we include road position in the top spread, where the tires also do a lot of good, then the 370Z is a car that always delivers an exceptional feeling of safety and a secure road position.

But it's still fun to drive - turn off the ESP and full throttle!

The aforementioned excellent steering feedback is also due to the fact that - when the asphalt under the wheels is dry - it's very easy to add throttle to the point that the rear (driven, thankfully) wheels reach that level of micro-slip, which helps to steer better in the corner. GHD!

The second part of the pleasure is provided by the geometry of the wheels, which are housed in a very short rectangle (some would even say square), and wide slippers, which adds to the great (but again easily controllable) anxiety of the vehicle and which requires the driver to in such cases the steering wheel was firmly in hand.

It is this “square” that also causes a fun skid on slippery roads as the steering is fast, precise, responsive, direct and more, and a little less fun on rough pavement because when the tires get there again they get very rough. . This, however, works with the mechanics, which even a sporty good driver does not want.

Well, fun is enough anyway, especially if you know that the devil slowed down to 100 meters at 35 kilometers per hour. And he knows how to do this several times in a row, but does not associate it with the red color of the brake pads, but with the design of the brakes in general.

The only drawback of all mechanics is related to the brakes. With them (also or mainly because of the automatic transmission) it is impossible to smoothly increase or decrease the pressure, especially at low speeds. Inconvenient, especially for the passenger, but also for the driver.

It's good that it has one bad feature, otherwise you would have a bad feeling that it might be a German car. And in this case, the main question about the paired factor becomes completely irrelevant; The 370Z is bought for everyday driving, during which he does not suffer, but really for fast driving, preferably through corners and a little better just in case on a closed track, where he always feels what a school model of a really good sports car.

Alyosha Mrak: What a surprise! If I remember the 350Z, the successor is better again. Faster, more interesting shapes, with a better gearbox, with a more predictable position. ...

It doesn't feel like one of the fastest at first, but after a few meters it gets into your skin and leaves a great impression - even on Raceland! The Nissan 370Z is the first car on our list of sports cars to be fitted with stock tires (rather than semi racing), so beware of drivers of Mitsubishi Evs, BMW M3s, Corvettes and the like!

Matthew Groschel: The Nissan 350 Z is a fast car, but if you've driven the Seventies, you're sure to love it even more. The Japanese have given the naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine more volume and power, the chassis has gotten rid of much of its predecessor's annoying understeer, and the more aggressive exterior is impressive - especially in the 40th Anniversary test version, where the black body color is perfectly complemented by graphite 19-inch wheels.

The seven-speed automatic shifts fairly quickly (only behind the limiter) and is a great choice in road traffic, a little less on the track where it can get lost here and there (our Nismo shone in Raceland, though). All in all a very successful machine and a marked improvement over the 350 Z.

Overall rating (323/420)

  • The Nissan Z needs to be even slightly more powerful to be even better. Some minor gripes have to do with the design of the coupe, and some deserve the attention of engineers. All in all: a first-class sports coupe lesson!

  • Exterior (14/15)

Even when he was Datsun, there was no such handsome Zeya. But there is still little room for maneuver ...

  • Interior (86/140)

Excellent driving ergonomics, quality materials and impeccable finishes, but some of the equipment is missing and the trunk is rather modest.

  • Engine, transmission (62

    / 40)

Some very minor flaws, but overall everything is great, from the engine to the bikes.

  • Driving performance (59

    / 95)

If the feeling of braking at lower speeds wasn't entirely uncomfortable, I would set absolute benchmarks here for a sports coupe.

  • Performance (33/35)

Only the sluggishness of the automatic transmission when shifting manually reduces flexibility.

  • Security (35/45)

There are no modern active safety devices, rear visibility is sharply limited, and there are no data on test collisions.

  • Economy

For these possibilities, very favorable fuel consumption even during acceleration.
