The look has excelled. It is actually very interesting and convincing, with the currently trendy combination of a darker third pillar. Anyone who likes it might think of a black roof. The exterior of the 3008 is quite distinctive, Peugeot (fortunately) does not share a kind of common family style in terms of exterior design. Exterior design will seem to many to be a very attractive and important buying argument. This is similar to the interior where Peugeot went in the direction indicated by previous models. At first glance, the steering wheel is rather unusual, the rim is flattened, of course, such an example is in Formula 1 cars. Since the view through the steering wheel, which is, of course, a little lower, is not limited by anything on the digital gauges, the driver, the new owner, quickly gets used to it.

The Peugeot 3008 opted for a fully digital era, that is, sensors for the already basic version of the equipment, while the Allure is complemented by even more functions. We control most of the functions on a central touchscreen. Unfortunately, this method is considered less safe for operation at higher speeds, but there are also several buttons under the screen that make it easier to work and allow you to quickly select the most important functions, additional buttons are located on the steering wheel spokes. The data on the sensors above the steering wheel can be tailored to taste or needs, but it is certainly commendable that the driver can get a lot of information on the high-resolution LCD screen that replaced the classic sensors. The combination of a small steering wheel and gauges on the dashboard in front of the driver seems like good practice. Digital gauges easily replace the mini head-up screen at the top of the dashboard and are more enjoyable due to the larger dataset.

Front users are a little less happy with the front door drawers, which are poorly designed and don't allow even a small book or A5 folder to be efficiently stored, but all the other little things, as well as bottles, have a suitable resting place. For those who want it, there is a smartphone tablet with an induction charger in the center console. Tastefully designed seat covers offer comfortable and well-fitting seats, the rear seats even have a slightly longer seating area, and even then, Peugeot's designers were generous. There's so much room in there, maybe it just feels like the front end is a little tighter than it should be. Flexibility is exemplary so that the passenger backrest can be turned over to carry longer items, and the opening in the middle of the rear seat backrest can also be used. The flexibility and size of the boot is enough even for a multi-seat passenger group.

The list of standard equipment with the Allure label is long and rich, it is difficult to list all the elements, but let's try at least the most important ones. Allure includes many pieces of equipment that are sure to please customers. There are 18-inch wheels, LED interior lighting, the aforementioned seat covers, electrically folding side mirrors (with LED turn signals) and a folding front passenger seat backrest. In any case, the list of equipment shows that the user was able to cope with the less richly equipped version, and more than in Allure, he gets only with the GT equipment.

Several useful accessories are still available as accessories (everything that is possible is combined only in the much more expensive GT). The test 3008 was equipped with some additional equipment, including LED headlights, a navigation system, Driver Assistance and Safety Plus packages, City Package 2 and i-Cockpit Amplify, as well as opening the rear door with a movement of the foot under the bumper. for only six thousand euros. Here, for example, cruise control, which has the correct function thanks to the automatic transmission, which we will write about later. Active cruise control is the first truly true cruise control, the first of its kind on a Peugeot, but it automatically tracks the vehicle ahead and stops. With all this, the 3008 is really good and comfortable.

This also applies to the combination of a smaller turbodiesel engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. They also added a program for choosing a driving profile, which is provided by a completely unusual description of the equipment set - “i-Cockpit-Amplify” (there are also less useful accessories). There are two options in the transmission program to control the driver's driving style, and if that's not enough, there's also the option of manually shifting gears using levers on the steering wheel. Those who are more demanding are more convinced by the transmission than the engine size, and Peugeot has provided a convenient option here - either a more powerful engine or a smaller displacement automatic transmission, both at the same price.

I was a little surprised by the relatively large deviation of the promised consumption rate from the one that we measured on the norm circle, but there is also a little justification for this - we measured it on a very cold morning and, of course, in winter. tires. The same "justification" for a less than satisfactory result of our measurements concerns the braking distance - and here winter tires have left their mark. The chassis of the new 3008 is similar to the 308, so it makes sense that the impression of good grip and solid comfort is good, with the remark that on short bumps the cab suspension may be sending too much "cheers". from poor road surfaces.

The new 3008 is actually completely done in a style that seems to be very popular now. Less important is the hardware of this car, more attention to electronics and software, if we borrow a comparison from computer magazines. Or otherwise, it seems more important what impression the 3008 makes on the user or potential buyer, and he also gets a very suitable technique, which is especially true for the combination of a solidly powerful engine and automatic transmission.

This recipe makes it easier for Peugeot dealers to "hunt" for buyers. However, at Peugeot, they set some pitfalls that we consider less acceptable. He is the main one in the proposal with Peugeot financing. This option is a fairly cheap end-price car, but at the same time it is also the only way for the buyer to get a discount program with a five-year warranty. The consequences of this method of financing must be checked by each buyer in the offer. Whether that's good or bad depends on the customer, but it's certainly less transparent than you'd like - the same goes for extended warranties.
