Types of scooters and vehicles of similar design

 We can categorize scooters by user, purpose or method of manufacture. Find out how different types of this mode of transport differ.

I. Separation of scooters depending on the age of users:

● for children - models intended for minors from two years. In the version for the little ones, the scooters are equipped with three wheels, which allows for better stability and greater driving safety. Older children already have traditional scooters with two wheels at their disposal; ● for adults – even world champions ride them professionally. Pumped wheels are a better solution than full ones. Many models have an enlarged front wheel.

II. Separation by purpose:

● For road traffic, a sports scooter with inflatable wheels, a larger front wheel and a smaller body is best suited. Sports models are great for long trips;

● for off-road riding - they are usually wider and have additional equipment to help you navigate on dirt roads or off-road. Another option for this division is the classification of scooters into:

● recreational - basic models offered to beginners, less demanding users. Their design does not allow high speeds, and they are used for short distances, on surfaces such as bike paths or paved roads;

● transport (tourist) – thanks to their design, they are adapted to overcome long distances. Large wheels and a strong frame allow you to ride long and often. They are ideal for everyday commuting and school;

● competition - this equipment is aimed at advanced users. They allow you to perform various tricks and evolutions. They are used for very fast and aggressive driving, so they have excellent wear resistance.

III. There are also scooters:

● foldable – thanks to their lighter weight, they can be folded into a small suitcase. They are equipped with a brake for the rear wheel;

● freestyle - designed and prepared for extreme riding, including acrobatics, jumping and, for example, going down stairs. They are designed for heavy loads, most often have an aluminum structure and wheels;

● electric - equipped with an electric motor and a battery; recently extremely popular on the streets of European cities. They come in different types: for children, adults, folding, off-road and with enlarged tires.

IV. Structures related to and related to scooters:

● Kickbike - This type of vehicle was created in 1819 by Denis Johnson. Almost two hundred years later, the building returned in a new version. The standard kickbike has a large front wheel and a much smaller rear wheel, allowing for a fast ride. These vehicles have regularly hosted the Footbike Eurocup sports competition since 2001;

● self-balancing electric scooters - hoverboards, electric skateboards, - unicycles, monoliths, - self-balancing means of personal transport, Segway;

● non-standard scooters - designed and manufactured according to individual orders. There are as many options and variations as there are ideas designers can come up with;

● skateboards - their belonging to the class of scooters remains controversial. They create a separate and rather extensive classification in their category.
