TomTom has just launched the TomTom GO Expert, a 7-inch HD navigation system for professional drivers, in the European market. The new device is packed with advanced features for more efficient, safer and smoother travel.

TomTom has just announced the release of TomTom GO Expert, a navigation system for professional truck, van and bus drivers. With a 7-inch high-definition (HD) touchscreen and a new processor, GO Expert is four times faster than previous navigators. In addition, it is equipped with advanced features including intelligent routing of large vehicles and accurate traffic information to make every journey more efficient.

TomTom GO Expert allows drivers to enter the size, weight, load type, and maximum speed of a truck, van, or bus so that routes are calculated accordingly. Because TomTom maps take into account the latest features of ADR tunnel codes, UN class restrictions and the City Ban, drivers will avoid roads that are not suitable for their vehicles. Even if the navigation system does not have a planned active route, limit warnings will keep the driver informed of what lies ahead. He will also be able to receive up-to-date notifications about violations that, given the characteristics of his vehicle, may affect the trip, such as the height of bridges, tunnels and toll booths. This makes it easier for drivers to adjust the route while driving, resulting in more efficient and less stressful driving.

Professional drivers equipped with accurate and reliable TomTom maps will appreciate the fact that they can update up to three times faster on GO Expert (maps update up to three times faster than previous generation TomTom devices) via Wi-Fi®. In addition to navigation, the new processor and increased memory means the device is ultra-fast (four times faster than previous generations). Other hallmarks of navigation are the inclusion of tens of thousands of new points of interest for oversized vehicles. These include gas stations, parking spaces and service centers that have been carefully selected to meet the needs of professional drivers. In addition, with new and improved lane guidance, drivers will feel confident at difficult intersections and motorway exits. They can also connect their phone to the device via Bluetooth® wireless technology and access reliable traffic information from TomTom.
