What is an A2 license?

The A2 license is a category of motorcycle driving license that does not exceed 35 kW. Available from the age of 18, and before the exam, you must complete training at a driving school. After training, you must validate the code and pass a practical driving test. The certificate is issued to you after successful completion. This certificate gives you the right to drive a motorcycle for 4 months prior to obtaining a license. 

What technical criteria are required for a motorcycle to be eligible for this license?

Not all motorcycles are eligible for an A2 license. Certain criteria are now established by law. Basically we have a criterion for the power of the motorcycle. Permitted power 35 kW. or 47,6 horsepower, usually rounding up to 47.

Then, motorcycle weight to power ratio should be no more than 0,20 kW / kg. In addition, the maximum power of the motorcycle should not exceed 70 kW, i.e. twice the limited power. A motorcycle must meet all of these aggregate conditions to be eligible for an A2 license. Note that no cylinder volume limitation is imposed as long as the previously listed criteria are met.
