Inauguration of the first ultra-fast Porsche charging station in Berlin

With its first ultra-fast charging station, Porsche eclipses the leader in electric vehicles: the car manufacturer Tesla. With this innovation, Porsche is already paving the way for the "Mission E", an all-electric sedan from the German manufacturer.

Serious competition for Tesla's "supercharger".

German manufacturer Porsche has just unveiled its first ultra-fast charging station for electric vehicles as a world premiere. This new 350-volt charging station, capable of delivering up to 800 kW of power, is the hallmark of Porsche, which toppled Tesla's "Supercharger", which had previously been the benchmark in the field. Thanks to this new technological creation, the battery of an electric vehicle with an extended range is now charged to 80% in no more than a quarter of an hour.

A real revolution knowing that with Tesla's 120kW "supercharger" it takes at least 1 hour and 15 minutes to get the same level of charge. This first ultra-fast charging station from a German manufacturer was installed at the state-of-the-art Porsche dealership in the Adlershof area. The terminal is intended primarily for its Mission E electric sedan, which is due to be officially launched in 2019, according to the German manufacturer.

Cooperation opportunities for a German manufacturer

To facilitate the construction of its blowers all over the old continent, the German manufacturer plans to partner with other well-known manufacturers. But at the moment, this openness to possible collaboration seems a bit daunting. Last fall, Oliver Bloom, CEO of Porsche, did announce that if the technical concept of the collaboration could not be clearer, it would be more difficult to agree on the various details.

Like many other manufacturers, Porsche is clearly preparing to turn the page and electrify its models. Other ultrafast charging stations are already under construction in other countries around the world, such as Atlanta, where the manufacturer's American headquarters is located. As early as next fall, the general public will be able to take advantage of the charging speeds offered by the new Porsche fast charging stations.
